"Can I get a 'hoooyeah'?"
"Hoooyeah!"
Hayes flipped off the edge of the pool, and a huge tidal splash washed towards me. I dunked under the water, and burst up laughing. Hayes flipped his hair, eyes sparkling. I was about to swim towards him to push him under when two strong arms wrapped around my waist, and lifted me up, throwing me across the surface of the water. I let out a scream before I submerged, and opened my eyes under the water. I looked around, my waist-length brown hair swirling under the surface. I admired it for a while, the individual brown hairs with some blonde highlights. Every time I moved my head, my hair moved. Gentle, slow, graceful. That's one of the things I loved about water. It made everything seem so serene, soft. As I began to lose air, I saw a pair of yeti legs, and jumped onto Will's back.
"You ass!"
He yelled, and fell backwards, on top of me. I crawled to the surface, and jumped onto Will's shoulders. I balanced as he came up, clutching onto him for support. Hayes laughed, and called to the side of the pool.
"Nash, Skylynn, can you help me save Will? He threw Reese across the pool and she's not too happy!"
I laughed. "What's Sky gonna do, Hayes? She's so tiny!"
Nash ran towards the pool edge. "Maybe she can't do a lot, but I can do some damage!"
He jumped in, and Will fell back again. I slipped off his shoulders, and felt someone behind me. I climbed up a well-built body, clutching onto Nash. Will floated back, laughing at me. "She's like a fricken cat, look, it's like she's afraid of the water!"
"Shut up, Will!"
Nash hugged me mockingly. "Be nice to the baby, Will."
"Nash!"
I jumped off him, and splashed him. "Skylynn!"
Her little blonde head bobbed over, and leapt into my arms. I held her protectively, turning back to the boys with a pouting face. "Can't splash me now, can you?"
Hayes jumped onto Will's back and stuck his tongue out at me. Nash just smiled at me, shaking his head.
"Skylynn?" I kissed her little forehead, and she smiled at me, her tiny teeth too small for her huge smile.
"Yeah Reese's?"
"What do your brothers need?"
Skylynn was smart, and caught on right away. "They need Jesus."
Nash heard, and looked over. "Hey, Skylynn, that was our thing!"
I laughed. "Not anymore!"
The boys splashed around for some more while Skylynn and I sat on the edge of the pool. I played with her hair, the soft blonde strands curling out of my fingers until I weaves them back in.
"Reese's?"
"Hmm, baby?"
"Reese's, why aren't you my sister?"
I laughed. "Oh, honey. I'm the sister God forgot to give you. That's why your my best friend."
Skylynn turned to face me, and gave me her biggest smile. "Really, Reese's?"
"Really what?"
"I'm your best friend?"
"Of course you are. You always will be."
Skylynn laughed, her little 4-year old laugh lighting up the whole world. I gasped. "You know what? That reminds me, I bought us a little something..."
I reached behind me, and grabbed my purse, pulling out a little bag. I reached inside and pulled out a little necklace with half a heart on it. In it was the word 'best'.
"For you."
She gasped excitedly. "Really?"
I laughed, and nodded. I clipped it on, and showed her mine.
She squinted, and read the little word on my necklace. "Friend."
I smiled. "Now put 'em together."
She clapped her hands happily. "Best friends!" She hugged me, and I gave her a little squeeze.
"Hey, Reese, Brent, Curtis, and Alex are here." Nash was behind me, trying to text and pull on pants at the same time.
I gave Skylynn another kiss on her forehead, and got up. "Coming!"
I ran to my chair, and pulled on a white, sheer bell-sleeved cover up, and a pair of A&E authentic light hi-rise festival shorties. I pulled my hair back into a very messy high ponytail, and grabbed my flip-flops, not bothering to put them on. I ran after Nash, Hayes close behind. We ran towards the hotel were we were all staying for the summer Vine-Con, and raced to the conjoined rooms we were all sharing. One room was just Skylynn, Will and I. Connected to our room was Nash's, which he shared with Hayes, and would also be sharing with Brent, Alex, and Curtis when he showed up. I realy stayed in Nash's room, but my clothes were all in my actual room.
Nash looked at me as he pulled out the room card. "Reese..."
"What?"
Hayes laughed, catching on to Nash's joke.
"What?!"
Nash smiled, shaking his head. "You couldn't have picked a better shirt?"
"What? It's just my bathing- shut up Nash!"
While I looked down, Nash had cupped his hands over his chest. When I looked up, he started prancing around, still covering his pecks.
"Nash. Get your hands off your man boobs. You aren't funny."
Hayes gasped behind me, eyes watering as he clutched his stomach. "Yes, Reese, he really is."
I pushed him playfully. "Shut it."
Nash opened the door to his room, and I jumped back into Hayes.
"Surprise! Reese's!"
"Brent!" I jumped on Brent. "I missed you!"
He laughed in my ear. "I missed you too!"
Before I could pull away, Alex scooped me up. "Reese!"
I whined back. "Alex!"
"I love you Jesus."
"Curtis! Curtis, Curtis, Curtis!" I ran to Curtis, and flopped on the bed next to him, my hair sprawling around my head.
"Reese! Reese, Reese, Reese!"
I faked a shocked gasp. "Curtis, are you mimicking me?"
"Maybe."
I slapped him, which, knowing the boys I did, ensued in a full-on pillow fight. Sides were forged, and on one side of the bed, I fought alongside Brent and Hayes, and against Alex, Curtis, and Nash.
"Attack!"
The girly scream Alex let out caught me off guard, and I didn't see it coming when Nash flew at me. He tackled me, and we both fell on the bed. He rolled on top of me, pinning me down.
"Uncle!"
"Never!" I played along, trying to get Nash off of me. "I won't say it!"
"Then you have brought this upon yourself, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!"
He started to tickle me, and I let out a loud squeal. "Noo! No, Nash, no! Uncle, uncle, uncle!"
Nash collapsed on me, and we both started laughing. Nash lifted his head up enough to look at me. He smiled down at me, blue eyes sparkling. His brown hair curled at the top of his head, and tickled my forehead. My hands rested on his shoulders, and his arms were wrapped around me. I smiled, my brown eyes sparkling in a way Nash never thought anything of. We slowly stopped laughing, and his sharp, icy blue eyes poured into mine until we heard a click. We both turned to see Alex, camera in hand, huge smile. "That's a keeper!"
"Alex!" Nash leapt off me and tackled Alex, but it was too late. Laughing, Alex pressed the 'send tweet' button, and my phone chirped, as did Nash's.
I grabbed my phone, and clicked on Twitter. Alex's tweet pulled up, and it was a picture of me and Nash, staring at each other, smiling. It had us both tagged, and it was captioned. "Next OTP? I hope so! <3".
I tried to laugh as Nash tweeted, 'aha #candid' and tossed his phone, still trying to strangle Alex. Brent collapsed next to me on the bed whole Curtis chased Buster Beans around the room, with Hayes's help, of course. Brent spoke softly, so only I could hear.
"He know yet?"
"Of course not. He couldn't figure it out on his own if he tried. And I am not about to tell him."
Brent rested his forehead on my shoulder. "Okay, okay. But you might want to at a later date, and if you do, I'll help."
I grabbed his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Thanks."
