I'm Hunting

My eyes fluttered open slowly, and I blinked the sleep out of my eyes to see a sleeping Nash still with his arms around me. I sighed happily, and closed my eyes again, wiggling in closer. Nash's strong arm was on top of the sheet he pulled over my shoulder, holding me to him. One of my legs had shifted over his, and his foot laid on mine. His head had moved closer to mine in our sleep, and his nose had come to rest on the top of my head before I woke up. I had wrapped my arm around his waist, my other arm occupied by my hand, which Nash had clasped in his. I sighed again. If I just told him, everyday could be like this... No. If you tell him, it could ruin your friendship, forget about this not happening, he wouldn't even talk to you! It's better to have this happen as just friends than as not happen at all and him not talking to you.

I sighed again. Nash stirred softly. His lips parted slightly, brows furrowed, and eyes squeezed shut. Then, his face relaxed, and he let out a slow breath. I held mine for fear of waking him. I never want this to end... Please, God, (even though I know there's no such thing) let us stay this way, let this never end...

Unfortunately, Hayes began to wake up, and rolled around, rustling the sheets. Nash's eyes flew open, and I could see the confusion in his face before he registered where he was. Before he could look at me, I shut my eyes, and gave a light sigh, pretending to be asleep. I heard Hayes get up, and leave to go to the bathroom. It was just me and Nash now, and I felt my stomach twist.

I felt a light shaking, and opened my eyes slowly. Nash was propped up on his elbow, looking down at me sweetly. "Hey, sleeping beauty. You all warmed up now?"

His arm was still around me. I gave an airy laugh. "Oh, yeah. Thanks. I don't think I shivered again after that!"

He smiled down at me, and collapsed again. "I don't wanna get up yet. Come here."

I laughed again, before positioning myself against Nash again. He held me to him tightly, and I knew it was only because he was fooling around, not knowing I was in love with him.

Buster Beans jumped onto the bed, and curled up at Nash's feet. Nash flew up and began to scratch behind his ears and mess around with him. I rolled onto my back and propped myself on both elbows, watching Nash. I had a feeling the longing I felt was obvious in my eyes, but I didn't know how to turn it off. He looked back at me and smiled. I blushed and tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

Hayes yawned, coming back from the bathroom, followed by Will and Skylynn. "Guys, Mom wants a family morning picture."

I held my hand out for the phone. "Gimme. I'll take it."

Nash shook his head, taking the phone out of my hands. "Nuh-uh. She said family."

I looked at him blankly.

"Reese's, you're as good as family. Come on, get in the picture."

He took my hand and pulled me up, dragging me to the picture. I pulled back, protesting. "Nash, no! She said family, it's going to be so awkward when I'm in it, she's gonna think I'm self-absorbed or something..."

Nash pulled me forward as he jumped toward me; he wrapped his arm around my waist and continued to drag me. Everyone else was getting ready; Will, Hayes, and Skylynn were already standing in a group.

"Reese, how long have you know our family?"

"I dunno, we've been inseparable since we met, and I was like... One?"

"Okay, so I was two, that means thirteen years. I can't remember a time where you weren't with our family, so that makes you family. Which means you're in the family picture. Let's go."

He pushed me forward, and I crashed into Will. He grabbed me, setting me upright. I blushed, and Brent took a candid photo, before turning the camera around to face him. Hayes must have feared for his storage; Brent, out of all of us, made his favorite past time spamming our phones with selfies. Not that we didn't do it, but it was like a hobby for him.

Skylynn grabbed my leg, and I smiled and picked her up. Will got behind Hayes, who was next to me, and Nash stood behind me, and put his hand on my shoulder.

Brent made a couple of faces while we got ready. When Will coughed, he pretended to blush, and turned the camera towards us. "Say Mama Grier!"

We laughed, but said it anyway. The phone clicked, and Brent tossed the phone back to Hayes. I yawned, and put Skylynn down. I felt Nash's hand still on my shoulder, and turned to look at him without shrugging his hand off. "What?"

He looked at me, and I yawned again. "You tired?"

I smiled, and nodded, my eyes struggling to stay open. "Yeah, just a bit."

He watched me yawn again, his eyes glinting with the laughter he was holding back. "I think it's a little more than 'just a bit'."

He pulled me into a tight hug, and my hand fell on his chest, and he squeezed. My head rested on his chest, and I closed my eyes. He kissed the top of my head. Nash was like one of the big brothers I never had, which kinda sucked. Cuz, you know, you can't date your brother.

I shrugged. "Whatever. I can rest on the way to the Vine-Con."

He laughed, and opened the door to Skylynn and Will's room. "Go get dressed - we'll wait for you."

"Thanks."

I walked in through the door he was holding open for me, shutting it gently behind me.

As soon as the door shut, I stopped moving. I stood still, eyes closed, trying to hold back the tears. I just spent the whole night with someone I loved more than anything, and he had done all the things a boyfriend would do... But he did them as a best friend, or a brother.

Will walked out of the bathroom. "Reese?"

I knew Will had checked in on us occasionally during the night, so he had seen Nash and I. My eyes welled over. "Will..."

He walked over and held me. I buried my face in his chest and began to cry.

"Shh, Reese, it's okay. I know, I know. It hurts."

I shuddered. "This is ridiculous. It's just... It's the first time I've ever really liked someone. I'm only a year younger than Nash, in two weeks I'll be fifteen too. And in almost fifteen years, I have never felt this way before. You always see this movies were the couple falls in love the first time they ever meet, and I just... I thought it was real. But I've known Nash for as long as I can remember, and nothing, ever. This is going to sound stupid and be awkward for you, but he honestly was my first crush, and he'll only ever see me as a sister or a best friend. It just hurts me that he won't ever love me, and I can't like anyone else the way I like him."

Will squeezed me. "Look. It doesn't sound stupid. I had the same problem once. But my friends showed me around, and I met some girls. We just gotta show you some guys, that's all."

I sniffed. "Are you sure?"

He smiled sympathetically, and nodded. "I'll show you some today."

I hugged him, then sulked off to get dressed. Will, or anyone for that matter, could never show me someone who would make me forget about Nash.

I pulled on a pair of dark denim short shorts, and a crop top that just covered my belly button. It was black, and had a food pyramid on one side, and a pizza slice on the other side. God, gotta love Delia's.

I slipped into the same wedge heels I had on last night. I remembered how Nash had carried me because I couldn't walk fast enough in them, and I felt my eyes get wet. In order to resolve not to cry, I layered on my mascara and touched it up with a light coating of black mascara. There, I thought. Can't cry now.

There was a knock on the door. "Reese," Will said softly. "It's almost time to go."

"Coming."

I swept all my hair over to one side, screw my part. I made a side-facing French braid, and sighed. I whispered to myself. "Let's go meet some boys."

I walked out to greet everyone, ignoring the looks I got about my seemly-messy-rocker-punk-chick look. I was ready to go forget about the hurt I got when I thought about Nash. I looked at Will, who gave me a nod. I dressed right. I huffed, blowing loose strands of hair our of my face. "Well, are we going or not?"

I heard a mumbled agreement from the back of the group. Skylynn ran up to me. I bent down to her level. Damn these heels, I thought. I couldn't kneel, so I squatted, and my butt may have stuck out a bit, although I tried not to let it. "What's up, sweetie?"

"Hold my hand?"

I smiled. "If you can beat me to the elevator!"

Skylynn squealed, knowing it was an easy completion. She raced down, and I jogged lightly, faking exhaustion. "Oh my goodness, Skylynn, slow down! You're going to beat me, you're so fast!"

She laughed again. I walked down the rest of way. Okay, maybe it was more of a strut. I just wanted Nash to know what he was missing.

I thought of what Will had said. No. Today, and from now on, is for me. No more Nash. This isn't about him. This is for me.

I leaned into the wall of the elevator, and crossed my ams. I kicked one foot up on the wall behind me.

Everyone piled into the elevator. Brent coughed uncomfortably, and I gave him a bored look.

"Reese?"

"Mhmm?"

"What's with the new outfit?"

I shrugged. "I'm hunting."

"For...?"

Will motioned behind him, rolling his finger in a circle, telling me to keep it up. I looked at Brent, and didn't say anything. I just winked.

The elevators in this hotel had perfect timing. The doors opened just as I winked, and I strutted out. I turned quite a few heads. Even without makeup, I seem at least sixteen, and a few times I have even gotten early twenties. My makeup obviously branded me a teen, but I knew I looked about eighteen.

While we stood, waiting for the car, I caught some guys passing by, staring at me. I followed them with my eyes, not hiding that I was watching.

"You know what? We should walk. I'm done waiting." And with that, I started strutting down the pavement, walking to the park where Vine-Con was being held.

Alex caught up to me. "Reese, what's going on?"

I looked up at him, and I'm sure he saw the broken Reese hiding in my eyes. "I don't want to hurt anymore, Alex. Will said he'd help me find some guys and I thought this was the best way to get the first bit of attention and he agreed."

Alex nodded solemnly. "I see what you're doing, but understand that we're all gonna be protective, and that before you do this, you should tell Nash, see if he'll give you a chance."

"In all honesty Alex, I just don't think it's worth it anymore. It isn't getting anywhere."

He nodded again. "But we're still being protective."

"Go ahead."

Suddenly, surrounding me was Hayes, Curtis, and Brent. Alex filled them in and they all agreed that they were sticking by my and watching me. I just shrugged and walked in front of all of them.

Brent and Hayes caught up and walked next to me, Hayes on the other side. I looked at each, and shrugged again. Will called from behind that he was going to stay here with Skylynn, it was too crowded over there. He left with her, and then it was just Brent, Hayes and I in the front, and Nash, Curtis, and Alex in the back,

Hayes leaned in and spoke softly. "Look, I understand wanting to get over Nash, but you have to tell him! He's funny and good in school, but he isn't too bright when it comes to girls."

Brent nodded, but I sighed. "I don't care. My mom said I could start dating when I turned fifteen, so I might as well look. Anyway, lots of girls are a lot prettier than I am and I can guarantee Nash would see them over me any day."

Brent shook his head, and opened his mouth to disagree, but was interrupted by a loud whistle. A group of boys walking by, around fifteen or sixteen, were looking at me, not bothering to hide that they were interested. Brent saw and put his arm around me, which I shrugged off with a pissy look. The boys laughed, and hollered. I smiled sweetly, and waved my favorite finger at the one who whistled the first time. All his friends laughed at him, and they kept walking. One turned around and yelled.

"You're hot!"

I turned to look at him, but got a quick glimpse of Nash's face before he turned around. He looked pretty pissed, and his next words confirmed my suspicion. "Back off! She... She has a boyfriend!"

I laughed, and yelled over Nash. "No I don't!" The boys hooted, and Nash raced forward and grabbed my arm, pulling me into a nearby alley, positioning all the boys as guards.

"What are you doing?"

"You heard me in the elevator. I'm hunting."

He looked stressed, putting a hand over his face. Momentarily ashamed, I put my hands behind my back and looked down. "Reese, trust me, none of these guys are good for you."

I looked up. "And you say this why?"

"Because it's true!"

"And how would you know?"

He opened his mouth to reply, but I cut him off. "You're one of those guys too, Nash. And you aren't my boyfriend, or my biological brother. It's not up to you to decide whether or not I can like a guy, or date!"

He stopped me from leaving, blocking me. "Reese, I'm just trying to look out for you..."

"Well you don't need to. Nash, we aren't in third and second grade anymore. No one is pushing me off the swings. I'm jumping. I can look out for myself when it comes to guys. I have been doing it for a while now, and I've been doing just fine."

He looked shocked to hear I liked someone. "I... I haven't noticed."

"Exactly." I pushed past him, and kept walking toward the Vine-Con entrance. The heads kept turning.

Brent put his arm around me, tentatively this time, but when I let him, he relaxed into it. "If Nash is putting you up to this, you can stop."

"He is, but I won't."

"What did he say?"

"He wants me to go to 'any lengths to make people think she has a boyfriend.' If we have to kiss, Reese..."

I looked at Brent, breaking. "Promise it won't mean anything? Like it's just for a Vine? I can't afford to really start to love anyone right now, especially someone who won't love me back the way Nash..."

He nodded. "I know. It'll be like for a Vine, and I promise, only if anyone asks."

I hugged him. "Thanks."

Vine interrogations had already begun. Girls were swarming, and I saw girls looking over at Brent and I jealously. Some girls crowding Nash were pointing at us, and he shrugged. I heard the word girlfriend, and Brent and I sighed. "Here we go..."

A very pretty blonde bounced up to us, and I could tell she was the bitchy kind of fan. "So, Nash says you are Brent's girlfriend."

Thank God I know how to act. I looked up to Brent and made goo-goo eyes, and he kissed the top of my head. No one knew that anyone I was close to, like Alex, Curtis, Nash, Brent, and Will all kissed my head. Hayes didn't, but that's because he's younger than me.

"Yeah. It was a secret until now."

The blonde let out a laugh, and batted her eyes at Brent. "I don't believe it for a second. I'm calling bluff."

"Call what you want," I said, leaning my head on Brent's shoulder. "But it's true."

She snickered. "Well then, why haven't you two kissed yet?"

The word 'kiss' got Nash's attention, and he looked over. I winced internally, and I'm sure Brent did too. He didn't know we had agreed to kiss if it came down to it.

I wrapped my arms around Brent's neck, and he held my waist. I leaned in, and softly pressed my lips to his. I trusted Brent to open his eyes slightly to see if she was still watching, and I'm assuming she was, because he leaned in and kissed me a little harder. Our lips moved together like clockwork, but there was no major electricity.

We pulled apart, and the girl huffed. "Well, Brent, if you get tired of Gothy over here, I'm available. My boyfriend lives in Florida, so he won't know." She bobbled off, and I rested my head on Brent's shoulder.

"Was she watching?"

I felt him nod. "That's why I kept it going."

I spied a look at Nash. He was pointedly not looking, and I sighed. "Help me find a guy? Will said he would but he's not here."

Brent took my hand, smiling. "He assigned me his job already. Can you believe the nerve?"

I laughed, and let Brent pull me around. We ran around, and, true to the Brent you see on Vine, he pointed at guys with me and giggled like a little girl. I got a couple hugs from some super cute guys, and even got a number from one who was staying at the same hotel as us. Vine-Con was nearing an intermission, and we all met by a fountain near where we split up.

"So, how's hunting going?"

I showed my phone to Curtis. Brent had taking pictures when I hugged a guy, and I showed him the number. "Hunting is going wonderfully. The guys here are ah-dor-ah-ble."

Nash coughed. "So Nash, any girls catch your eye?"

Curtis, not thinking, turned to him. "I saw you and the blonde chick talking. Mhmm?"

I winced. "Ooh, a blonde? Which one?"

Brent laughed. Alex craned his neck, and found her. "That one. The one who was talking to you and Brent earlier."

I kept my mask on, but behind it I broke. Brent noticed and slung his arm around my waist, squeezing me. Nash saw. "Yeah, actually. Her brother was in one of your pictures, the last one."

I looked at Brent. The guy who gave me his number is her brother? The girl who called bluff earlier with me and Brent?

Speak of the devil. She sashayed over and grabbed Nash's toned arm. "Hay, bae. How's it- Well, if it isn't the lovely couple?"

Brent held me tighter. "Yeah. It is."

Blonde-Girls brother walked over, noticing me. "Hey, you're the girl from earlier!"

Blonde-Girl looked at me in disdain. "Don't talk to her Bobby, she's a whore, I can tell."

I gasped unintentionally. Brent held me to him, and he and Nash both spoke at once.

"She is not a whore!"

Blonde-Girl laughed. "Yeah, whatever you say. Come on Nash, I wanna walk with you. Alone." She pulled him away, and before her brother, Bobby left, he came over to me.

"I trust my sister, but the number I gave you is the one we share. Can I fix it, and put in my private?"

Warily, I gave him my phone. He smiled, and handed me my phone back. He leaned in tauntingly, and pinched my cheek. Brent swung his arm up and got Bobby's hand off of me. He blew me a kiss, as walked away.

I watched him go and then checked the number.

"Oh..."

Brent heard my tone, and quickly looked over my shoulder. "Reese, just delete it. Please, just forget it and delete it. Or I'll even do it."

I handed him my phone, but Alex and Hayes intercepted it and Curtis looked over to see it.

Alex read it aloud under his breath. "You're a Whore, 1800 - rejection, email skankbreesaids@slut.com... Hold up. Don't delete this." He screenshot it and sent it to Hayes, Brent, Curtis, and myself. "We need to show this to Nash later."

I shrugged. "It doesn't really matter. Only issue is that Blondie and her brother are in our hotel. He told me so."

Brent hugged me. "It's okay, Reese's. We can always beat Nash later for being such a jerk to his best friend."

I shrugged. "Just help me get through the rest of this with her around."

They all nodded, and I saw Nash walking back, Blonde-Girl still on his arm. She didn't look uncomfortable; she was looking at all the guys around him smugly, as if saying that she was his and they should all be jealous. She gave Brent and I a nasty look, mocking the fact that she still called our bluff. I rolled my eyes at her.

"We're still coming back tomorrow, right?"

Curtis nodded. "Yes, why?"

I yawned again, and Brent laughed. "Because she's going sleep late."

I pushed him. "Shaddup." Everyone stared at me, waiting. "Fine! The hotels here are really nice."

Alex snorted.

"Listen, Draughan..."

He stuck his tongue out at me, and I mimicked him. Some girls crowed him, and the rest of us grouped to continue planning for the weekend. I fixed my crop top, pulling it down, and lost myself in thought. It wasn't even relevant thought, I just kind of blanked.

"So, we can bring buffet breakfast here or we can find a diner or something..."

"I think we should do a diner. It's easier, and they're cheap."

"Yeah, but the hotel food is inclusive."

"Oh, come on, it's New York, let's have some fun!"

"What do you think, Reese?"

"Mhmm?" I had completely zoned out and didn't even notice that I was involved in a conversation.

"Diner or buffet tomorrow for breakfast?"

Did anyone stop to think that I really didn't care? I had other things on my mind. "Um... Let's go to the hotel buffet tonight and go to the diner for breakfast tomorrow."

Everyone nodded. I don't think anyone was in the mood to argue; we were all tired and Vine-Con was still going on. I saw a bunch of girls watching the boys around me, and a few recognizing me. I was in most of the boys Vine's. Not all of them, but if it wasn't a planned one with all of them, I was in it. One girl ran up to us confidently, holding out her phone and a piece of paper.

"Would you mind if I took a picture with all of you?"

Of course, we didn't, so she opened her phone. "Wait... Actually, can I just take a Vine? But like stop it and take individual pictures in the Vine?"

We said yes, and she jumped excitedly. She took the Vine, and tagged us all. Now, I did make my own Vines, some with the boys, some without. However, I tried as hard as I could to communicate with all my followers on Vine, not just Twitter or Instagram. When I got the notification of her Vine, I re-Vined her video. Her phone pinged, and she opened it, confused. When she realized what happened, she squealed. "Oh my goodness! Thank you!"

I opened my arms, laughing. This girl was probably 12 or 13, maybe shared the Vine with an older sibling. She ran into my hug, and whispered in my ear. "I love you, you're my idol. Don't ever give up on what you want."

She pulled away, and looked at me. "Someday, I'm going to be just like you."

She left, and I smiled. "Well, that just made my day."

Blonde-Girl walked back over, still clinging to Nash. He looked at me. "What was that?"

"A very sweet fan."

Blonde-Girl sniffed. "Not for you, I hope. Poor girl."

Nash's face contorted, and he slipped his arm out of Blonde-Girls chokehold. "I told you to stop doing that, Bree."

"Doing what?"

He looked at me. "Bashing Reese's Peanut Butter Cup."

She looked shocked. "You have a nickname for her? You aren't even dating!"

He didn't look away. "Neither are we."

She huffed. "Well we might as well be. We look great together, and pretty much everyone has seen us together. It's an instant OTP."

No looked at her, annoyed. "No. We aren't dating and we won't be. We don't look good together. And I've kept my head down this whole time, we are not an OTP."

"But Nash! What is she to you, I mean, come o-on."

"I can tell you what you are to me."

I snorted. I couldn't help myself. I knew what was coming. Nash used to and sometimes still would have to say this all the time to my bullies at school. He looked at me and winked, and Blonde-Girl looked at me, ice in her grey-eye stare.

He turned dramatically to stare at her. "Well... You're a beeetch."

She gasped. "You better watch out Nash. I know what hotel you stay in."

I jumped to Nash's aid. Even when we fought (which was only once aside from this), we still helped each other. "Honey, stalker much?"

"At least I don't stalk his family, like a damn creep!"

Before anyone realized I was at a lose for words, Nash rescued me. "I'm sorry, but uh, she doesn't creep. She's invited. Hell, she's family to us, which is why we're so close." He wrapped his arm around me softly, not wanting to bother me if I was till mad. I wasn't. I couldn't be now. I wiggled in closer, and he smiled, squeezing me.

She stomped her foot. "You know what? Hop off Nash, she has a boyfriend! And you're single, and I'm single, and I know you want me. You know it!"

He looked at me, trying to hide his shock. "I dunno, I'm not hitting on her. She's my best friend. Don't you hug your best friends?"

She crossed her arms, and looked at Brent. "I'm sorry, do you approve of this?"

"Hey, it's like he said. He's not hitting on her. And they've know each other since they were, like, two. I'm not worried."

She lost, and she knew it. With angry tears sparkling in her eyes, she turned on me. "Watch your back." She stormed off, and we watched her go. I didn't miss her.

Nash turned to look at me full on. "Boyfriend?"

I panicked. "No, Nash, I don't have one, but I thought I'd just play around and find some cute guys, even though I wasn't really interested. But then Brent told me you told him to make sure all the guys thought I had a boyfriend. So when that girl asked if we were dating, we played it out, but even after that Brent still helped me look for guys. They thing is, she only said that I had a boyfriend and that we were a couple because when she called our bluff she asked us why we hadn't kissed yet, so then we did and-"

Nash interrupted me. "Wait, you guys kissed? Did you have to every time she looked at you?"

I nodded. "She kept staring and so we kept kissing and she walked away after."

"If she looked again, would you?"

"If we had to, I mean, I guess, I, uh - Brent?"

He shrugged. "Only if she made a scene."

He looked at me. "Can - Can we walk?"

I looked at everyone, and they all turned around and pretended not to notice us. Nash put his hands in his pants pockets, and waited for me to walk next to him. I walked a step, and then bent down. I un-strapped my shoes, and pulled them off.

"The wedge was hurting my feet."

I slung them onto the belt loops on my shorts, and we walked. We were quiet for a while, but Nash finally turned to look at me. "Reese... I don't want to fight anymore. I guess I was just looking out for you, but I went a little overboard. I just really care about you and I want you to take advantage of New York, but not get hurt either."

"I don't want to fight anymore either. And I'm sorry; I've been really rude and slutty and stupid all day and-"

Nash cut me off. "You are not slutty, or stupid. And you weren't rude today, something was bothering you, and as your best friend I should have noticed but I didn't."

I hugged him, and he hesitated before hugging me back, shocked at how quickly I had gotten over being mad. He didn't realize I had to hide my face, because when he said best friend, I almost winced.

People were starting to clear our by the time we got walking back to our little group. We hung around for a little whole, took some last photos with fans, and then some with each other. Eventually, we began to head back to the hotel.

We made it back to our rooms by 10:45. I ran to get my pajamas, and got changed. I let my hair loose, brushed it, and tied it back up in a high ponytail. The ends fell about mid-back, and I pulled them over my shoulder. My black yoga shorts matched my grey tank-top, and I pulled on my black-and-white checkered converse. I went back into the boys room. Will and Skylynn had come back earlier then us, and had already had food and were in bed; Skylynn was asleep, and Will was watching a game (football, of course!)

We all walked into the hallway, and I gasped. "Ooh, no! Lemme back in!"

Curtis laughed at me. "What's wrong?"

"It's too co-o-o-old," I sang, mimicking one of Nash's and Hayes Vines. Everyone laughed, and Hayes stuck his tongue out at me.

Nash came back inside the room with me. "Here." He fished through the drawer, and pulled out his blackish/blue hoodie with a green NC on it, popularly seen in Vines. I slipped it on, and went to fix my hair, taking the rubber band out.

Nash stopped me from putting it back on. "Close your eyes."

I shook my hair out and did as he asked. He out something on my head, and when I looked, it was blue and black striped beanie. I looked at him. "Yo, bro, how swag is this?"

He opened his mouth to reply, but Curtis yelled from outside. "Three-hunnehd hashtag swag! Now get out here before I carry you out!"

I scurried out and Nash followed. Hayes looked at me, a hopeful glimmer in his eyes when he saw me in his brothers sweater and hat. I looked down, and he got the message.

We ran down to the buffet, screaming and laughing. It was like the thought of food and suddenly woken us up. We grabbed plates, and piled the food on. They had everything I could have thought of, like cheeseburgers and pizza, and boneless buffalo chicken wings, which I filled up on. We piled it all onto a cart, since it was way to much to carry up the stairs.

Alex went to ask a bell boy to bring our food to our room, but I stopped him. "It's okay, I'll take it in the elevator."

"All by yourself? You want anyone to go with you?"

At the same time, Brent and Nash said, "I'll go." Nash looked at Brent, and waved him on. "Don't worry man, I got it."

I was nodding behind Nash, and Brent shrugged, turning to go back to the room with Alex, Curtis, and Hayes.

Nash and I walked the cart to the elevator. It was hard to get in; eventually, Nash had me stand inside the elevator while he rotated the cart in. The doors closed, and we both sighed, for the moment, relieved.

"You know we're going to have to get this back out, right?"

Nash looked at me, and I could tell he hadn't thought about that yet. I laughed. "Relax, it'll be easier this time, we just have to get it out."

We were quiet for a while, and Nash put his arm around me. "Come here."

I snuggled into his side, nuzzling into him. "What's up?"

He sighed, resting his head on mine. "I just... I missed you today. I felt like neither of us was... Us."

I nodded. "I know."

His phone rang, and the doors opened. He handed me his phone, and began to jostle the cart out of the elevator. I opened Nash's phone (yes, I know his password), and I laughed.

"What?"

"Matt wants to know if he and the guys can all crowd into our room with us and maybe make a video. He says they'll bring their own food." I looked at Nash, a smile growing on my face. "Good thing we're all in the same hotel."

"Should we say yes?"

"I dunno, you tell me."

Nash smiled at me, a devious glint in his bright blue eyes. "Won't the guys be surprised."

I typed back to Matt. 'It's Reese. Nash is taking our food to our room, so I have his phone[: but sounds great, see you soon, and yes, you still need to bring your own food."

As we started making our way back to the room, Nash's phone rang again. I checked it, and it was Matt again.

"U txt funy"

Nash was looking over my shoulder and laughed. "What did you text him the first time?" I showed him my first text to Matt, and he laughed again. I rolled my eyes at him, and texted Matt back.

"Why, because I speak English?"

He sent me a heart face emoji, and I sent him back a heart, with the word 'kiss-up'.

We wheeled the food cart into the room. Curtis and Alex had decided to stay with Will in that other room overnight, so now it was just me, Nash, Hayes, Brent, and the food.

We had started up piling the food when there was knock. Nash and I gave each other knowing looks, and Hayes got up to open the door.

"Whoooo! Wassup!?" Matt Espinosa ran in, holding a camera. A cart the same size as ours but twice as full followed him, pushed by Carter Reynolds, JC Caylen, Cameron Dallas, Aaron Carpenter, Shawn Mendes, Taylor Caniff, Jack Johnson, and Jack Gilinsky. I looked at Nash again and covered my face.

"Oh crap."

Matt adjusted his camera on its stand and positioned it like a security camera - looking down at us and looking from every angle. He rubbed his hands giving us all twisted smile. "My friends. We are being watched."

My stomach grumbled. "Yeah, and so is the food. So let's get to it." I grabbed my plate, and piled it with a cheeseburger, fries, and boneless buffalo chicken wings. Nash had gone to reach for the chicken just at the same time as I had, and I slapped his hand. He jerked it back, pretending to be hurt and offended. I shrugged.

"What? I'm starving. While you were feeding on desperate girl, I was stuck with Hayes and Brent."

Cameron laughed loudly, catching everyone's attention. "What did you say, Reese?"

"I said, Nash was feeding on desperate girl today, it was the only thing on the menu."

Matt pulled out his phone, and typed something. While Nash was explaining the girl at the park today, no one noticed my phone ringing.

I looked at Matt, and shook my head quickly. He made a pouty face, but nodded at the boys, shaking his phone. I could almost hear what he was saying, even though he wasn't speaking. 'Are we going to tell them?'

I nodded. By the time the quick conversion between Matt and I was over, everyone had calmed down from my earlier comment. Nash was looking around indignantly.

"I was not feeding on desperate girl!"

I laughed, getting up to plug in my phone to charge, and then sitting back down. "Oh-kay Nash, whatever helps you sleep at night."

I had finished serving my food, and put it on the table next to me. He was staring at me, jaw hanging open.

"Nash, you're going to catch flies."

I was not expecting his tackle. He jumped on me, and I fell onto my back. He straddled me and began to make me slap myself.

"Na-a-ash! Matt, get him off!"

Matt rolled onto the other bed. "I dunno, I might have to add this to the video. You're beating the crap out of yourself."

Obviously, Nash wasn't making me hit myself that hard, but I think Matt wanted to see how it was going to play out. The rest of the guys felt the need to do the same, because they all ignored me when I called for help.

"Ugh, you all suck..." I wiggled underneath Nash, but he just swung his leg around to the other side and sat on me. "Nash!" I whined. He looked down to me.

"What? Your stomach is a good butt-seat."

"You little..." All the guys laughed, and conversations carried on, including one between Matt and Nash, who was still sitting on me. I lay under Nash Grier's butt and tried to think off a way to change my predicament.

I quickly rolled, letting out a soft grunt. Nash wasn't expecting it and he gasped, falling onto the bed and landing next to me. "Hey, I was comfortable!"

I rolled my eyes, then raised my eyebrows, teasing him. "Yeah, but now I'm comfortable, and I think we all know what's more important."

"Pssh..."

Matt flopped on the bed at our feet, and looked at the clock. Taylor noticed, and looked at the clock as well.

"Selfie six!"

To amuse Taylor, we all took out our phones. Kinda.

Nash looked at me, and in a accented voice, he said, "Uhm, Reese, hunny, where's your phone?"

I looked over to the table on the other side of the room, and pretended to try to reach for it. "Ugh... So far... Guess that means no selfies for me."

"Pssh please. Would I ever pass up on a new picture to blackmail you with?"

"Or spam me on Twitter."

"Exactly." Nash took out his phone and held it above the two of us, laying on our backs on the bed. My hair flowed around my neck and shoulders, Nash's hat still on my head and his sweater hood tucked underneath me. He opened the camera. "Smile!"

I covered my face, Nash's sleeves covering my hands. I heard the camera click, and I turned my head into the crook of his neck. I covered the side of my face with one hand, letting my other hand fall on top of my lap. It clicked again. Nash whined. "Reese's, please? Take a picture with me-e?"

I whined back. "Na-ash, I don't like the-e-em."

He jostled his arm around till he wrapped one hand around both of mine. "Now - smile," he commanded.

I huffed, but made a fishy face, puckering up my lips and crossing my eyes. I didn't really pay attention to what Nash was doing - I was busy trying not to seem stupid. I mean, it didn't really matter, Nash has seen me goofing off since we were little, but still. Pictures were different.

We kept making different faces, Nash even pretending to kiss my cheek in one. I made a surprised face, he took the picture, and then I felt a pair of lips press my cheek, there and then gone. By the time I had turned to look at Nash, he was already getting ready to take another picture. I covered my face for that one, too.

Eventually, 'selfie six' ended, and we got to the food. Nash passed me my plate, and I dug in. My phone started ringing, and Aaron tossed it to me. I caught it, and there were Twitter notifications and texts. Twitter notifications from all the boys, who had tagged each other in every selfie, and posted pictures of Nash and I. Notifications from Nash, of the pictures of us, and texts from Nash and the boys. Nash, sending me the pictures of us and telling me to post some and tag him and everyone else, including the group picture Taylor had taken of an unsuspecting, well, all of us. The rest of my texts were from the boys, who had seen Nash kiss my cheek and wanted to know if they were missing something. The next five minutes of Matts video would be us, on our phones. I posted all the pictures, tagging everyone. I responded to the boys, telling them no, he still doesn't know. Then I saved all the pictures, and swiped away all my twitter notifications.

We all finished eating, yelling across the room at each other, throwing phones.

Eventually, when the food was finished, it was deemed necessary to start a smack-cam war. The first slap went off like a firing shot - everyone began to pick sides and I snuck under the covers. I pulled out my phone and went on Twitter.

'Holy crap guys. Wait until you see @TheMattEspinosa new YouTube video. #avoidingconflict' I pressed send Tweet, and heard Nash yell.

"Oh shit, I got hit! Who hit me?"

Suddenly, I started to formulate an idea. I smiled devilishly, even though no one could see me. You know when you just get an idea and it's just so good that you just smile to yourself? Yeah. It was that good.

I wiggled around till I reached the end of the bed. The camera would have seen all of this, but all 12 boys were too busy to notice me. I crawled out of the bed onto my stomach, and scrambled into the bathroom. I found the shampoo they were using, and they were soo lucky it wasn't mine. Because if it was I would drown them all in it. Mine.

I poured some shampoo into my head, and crept out of the bathroom. Luckily, only Cameron, Matt, Carter, Hayes, Brent, and Aaron were facing me. I put my finger up to my lips, and they pretended not to notice me. I swung my hand out, hit my target, and dove back into the bed.

Nash yelled again. "What the hell? I thought we were on the same side!"

He must have turned to Shawn, because he said, "It wasn't me, I swear! Look, I still have all of mine!"

I bit the blanket to stifle the sound of my laughs. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying not to laugh. Did he seriously not know it was me? I shook, trying to hold it in.

Nash probably turned to whoever was next to him, which had to be Taylor, because he put up his defense, saying, "Hey, don't look at me. I'm all out."

I couldn't take it. I let out a loud giggle, and gasped, clapping my hands over my mouth. It fell silent, and I felt the end of the bed bending. The weight crawled toward me, and I curled up, still giggling. Nash ripped off the covers, and grabbed me, wedging his arms around me. He held me up, and pulled me tightly to his chest.

"Get her."

I began to squirm. "No, no, no! Cameron, Hayes, Brent, Aaron, and Matt were in on it too! No no no don't! Oh-my-gosh noo!" I wiggled, and Nash laughed in my ear. He threw me onto the bed, and tackled me, laying across me.

"Go."

Cameron winked at me. He walked over, hands full of conditioner, and waved his arm like he was going to hit me. At the last second, he drew back and slapped Nash again. I slipped from under him. Nash jumped on Cameron and started smearing the conditioner all over him. I grabbed another hamburger, sat comfortably on the bed, and watched this all happen.

Eventually, things settled down. We all cleaned the room, moved things back where they belonged, and put the now empty food carts outside. We were all going to Vine-Con again tomorrow, and decided to go together. Cameron, Matt, Carter, JC, Jack, Jack, Aaron, Shawn, and Taylor were too lazy to go back to their room, so they stayed in ours. They slept on the floor, in chairs, and Taylor considered sleeping in the bathtub.

"No, Tay, I have to shower tomorrow," I pouted.

"All the more reason."

My pillow flew across the room, hitting him in the face. "Pervert!"

He winked, but jumped into the bed. I went to claim the chair, but Aaron shooed me away. "The chair is mi-i-ine. And you're a girl."

I scoffed. "So?"

"So you get the bed, stupid."

I stuck my tongue out at him, but pulled my charger from the wall and plugged it in by the bed. I flopped down. The guys shifted, Nash climbing into bed next to me, and Brent on the other side. On the other bed Carter, Cameron, and Taylor fought over who got more space. Shawn and Matt peeped over the edge of my bed.

"Reese, we're cold."

I smiled, shaking my head. I pulled the sheet off Nash, Brent, and myself, and tossed it onto the floor. I went to the other bed and did the same. Matt, Shawn, JC, Jack, Jack, and Hayes all pulled and tugged until they were all comfortable. I rolled over Nash and pushed him into the middle of the bed.

"Hey!"

"What?" I asked innocently. "I need my phone."

He stuck out him tongue, and I shrugged with a teasing smile. The room actually had quieted down, and Matt got up to turn off his camera and charge the batteries.

A very thin sheet covered Nash, Brent, and myself, and I rolled into Nash to keep myself warm. And to be closer to him. But he didn't need to know that

He laughed, and threw his arm over me. "Go to sleep, Reese's."

I sighed contently, and felt myself drifting off. Next thing I knew, Taylor was jumping on the bed screaming, and my pillow might have hit him again.
