SUW II - CHAPTER 11 

           Pagkasara ng pinto ng kotse, pagkaikot ni Jude papunta sa door side ng driver's seat ay nag-vibrate ang cell phone niya. He stopped to fish it out of his pants' pocket at naningkit bigla ang mga mata niya nang mabasa ang caller ID.

            Michaela

            He eyed on Ellen inside the car, nakatingin lang ito sa kanya, nagtataka marahil kung bakit hindi pa siya sumasakay ng kotse. Jude hand-gestured her to wait at sumandal lang sa gilid ng sasakyan. He answered the call.

            "Hello," he answered flatly.

            "Finally," tila relieved the sagot ng nasa kabilang linya. "Jude, about what we talked about—"

            "Don't you do that again, Michaela," he warned in a dark tone. "Huwag na huwag mo akong pupuntahan. You shouldn't have come to Tagaytay."

            "You know I don't like going to you either," eye-roll ng babae. "If it's not for Mikey."

            "Nakausap ko na si Mikey, Michaela. We're cleared. Now I don't know what else can be the problem."

            "He doesn't want to go to America, Jude."

            "Don't tell me you want me to take Mikey?"

            "I don't. He's mine."

            "Good! So ano ang kinalaman ko ngayon sa problemang iyan?"

            "You influence Mikey much better, Jude, that's why I badly need your help."

            Bumaba na si Ellen mula sa sasakyan kaya naalerto si Jude.

            "We can talk about this matter later, okay?" at agad na niyang pinatay ang phone.

            "Any problems?" tanong ni Ellen kay Jude.

            He breathed out harshly and finally inhaled calmly.

            "Wala," iling nito. "I hate business interruptions during my intimate dates." Nakangisi na ngayon ang lalaki which relieved Ellen and made her smile.

            "So, I thought this is just a dinner. It's a date pala."

            "Well, dear wife," bukas nito ng pinto ng sariling kotse, "dinner date. And I believe, this is our first date, hm?"

            Natawa si Ellen. "Oo nga, no? Funny."

            Natawa na rin ng konti si Jude. "Now get in the car, dear."

            Sumunod si Ellen at ilang saglit pa ay magkatabi na sila sa loob ng sasakyan. They glanced at each other and smiled before Jude started the engine.
