Chapter 1: The Break Up

"Bakit kapa pumunta?" he said with a sharp tone. He looked at her with a blank stare. Perhaps he was expecting her to just disappear if he ignored her. He stood up and asked her to leave. Coreen kept her gaze at the food. She stayed silent for a few minutes and until tears started running down her cheeks.

"Hun, tapusin mo na muna yang pagkain mo. Kukunin ko lang yung ibang dala ko sa sasakyan." she tried to stop him by holding onto his arms. She smiled sadly as if to say she knew what was coming.

He tried moving away from her but she wouldn't let go. She had a tight grip on his hands but it was still as gentle as her presence. After a few minutes of struggling, he forcefully threw the things she brought for him. By that time, she had finally let go of his hands but she knelt down and asked him to listen to her.

"Don't leave. Not like this. I saw your facebook messages to that girl. I knew what you were doing this whole time. You really wanted to get rid of me, didn't you?" At that time, she was already crying like a little kid.

For a second she was able to steady her legs so she took the chance to get close enough for what felt like a parting embrace. She did as she cried her heart out. She didn't want to let him go.

"Emman, ako ang piliin mo. Ano pa bang kailangan kong gawin? Am I not good enough? Kakalimutan ko lahat ng ito. Ayusin na natin to, please."

She embraced him as tightly as she could but he still managed to break away from her. He turned his back without even saying anything and left.

Just like that. He was out of her life.
