Cheers and chanting fill the background noise of the crowds as my father's car roars to life and speeds past the blurry rails. Dust following behind his speeding car, suddenly the quick car drifts off to the side, his competition, Trevor, is finally in the view of much of the crowd, a grin rose to my lips my father winning, but suddenly the cheers and chanting froze, silence ran across the crowd as my six-year-old self-seemed to grow with sadness seeing the huge semi truck appear in front of the cars that are going way too quick to stop. My view was interrupted by the sudden bump of a much bigger and taller man, my body meeting with the ground, dust coming up into the air from the interaction as he told me to watch it, to enjoy the not so great event, a darkish grin on his lips as my mind raced for any understanding of whats happening, but looking back I realize what has happened and the man obviously did too.

The two racers won't make it out alive, so I cant save my dad and I have to watch his death happen without doing anything to stop it. The two cars are coming close to the truck at full speed and they both turn the corner and...

"Alex...Alex what are you doing, you're going to get us caught"."Alex go"!

I snap back into reality and slam on the gas pedal. I remember that me and my friend Jack are trying to steal a car. The car I'm in is a Porsche 911. I press harder on the pedal and watched the road quickly blur into a plain black road. Street lights blur in the distance as cars pass us honking their horns. Jack is laughing as we swerve in and out of traffic. Police lights appeared out of nowhere and started following us."Crap" Jack said looking in the mirror. "Lose them, Alex, they're gaining on us",

"Shut up Jack, you're not helping me focus"." I said with a stern voice "What are you focusing on." He asked.

"This," I said jerking the wheel and the emergency brake making us drift around a sharp corner.The cop stopped far down the road, I opened Jake's door and shoved him out.

"Hey what are you doing?!", he yelled as I shoved him out.

"Look I'm sorry but if I'm pulled over at least you can be free". He rolled his eyes and started to walk away like nothing just happen. I closed the door and slammed my foot on the pedal as a cop turned the corner. I did a 360 and headed down in the nearest canal. The cops came from both end of the streets and tried to block me but I did a sharp turn right and squeezed through the little entrance. I relaxed as the cops gave up on catching me, several minutes later another car came up beside me. We drove for awhile and after that the dark figure motion me to pull over. I hesitated but decided to slow down and to chat with the person in the car. We slowed down and pulled into a small underground tunnel. I stopped my car and looked at his car it was a Nissan Silvia, Silver paint job with tribal decals.

A female got out of the car wearing a black tank top and dark denim jeans, she has a sleeve of tattoos. She walks over,"Hey are you the one causing all that racket in my new car", she said leaning over to my window.

"Your car?" I asked

"Ya I assume your friend didn't tell you that I'm the buyer", she holds out the money promised to us.

"Ok well here's the car, in perfect shape." I said uncertainly

"It's in perfect shape but the paint is scratched in the front", She said walking over to the front.

"Crap," I said.

"Look I'll let it pass my mind and here I'll have one of my crew members drive you home", she hands me the five grand.

"Thanks but-", She cuts me off

"Oh hey, there he is now. The muscle car could be heard miles away, It drifts around to the other end of the tunnel and drives in. It jolts as the person stops the mustang.

"Hey, Spike do you mind if you take this guy home?", she asked him as he got out the car. The man stood about four inches taller than me so he's like six feet tall, he wore dark denim pants and a white tee shirt, with brunet hair. The cologne from him is strong but smells good. I caught myself before I started to drool over this guy.

"Sure but um does this guy have a name?", he smiles.

"Alex", I say scooting backward a little.

"Well ok then if we're introducing each other than I'm Alyssa", she said sitting down in her new car."Ok well bye guys and not too friendly Spi..."

"Well bye Alyssa," he said waving. She rolled her eyes and sped off in her new car. "Hey Alex, do you know how to drive". I looked at him and he realized what he just asked me."I mean um where did you learn how to do that?". He asked me shyly

"I learned how to do that on a race track when my dad uses to drift". I said getting in the Mustang.

"Where do you want me to drop you off?". He asked

"Um how about the Palmer street", I said hoping he wouldn't ask anything about it.

"Ok to Palmer street we go". The drive was long and awkwardly silent, I didn't know what to do but just sit there and cringe.

"Hey, do you need anything else?.." Spike said stopping the car on the side of the road and turning down the music he was playing.

"No, but thanks for dropping me off" I smiled and got out asap before closing the door. I walked up to the staircase and stopped and waved as he drove away.When the coast was clear I walked down the steps and walked across the street to the nearby park. I walked up to a tree and jumped up onto a branch and climbed upwards stopping at the highest branch. I didn't think it was a necessity to tell them that I was homeless, I mean like I was a worker and they were a client for the car, they wouldn't care about me, and besides taking pity from strangers is awful and dumb. But next thing in the morning I'm buying myself new clothes and food for sure, even though I make bank at times, doesn't always means that I can afford everything I need. I found the backpack I stuffed up in the tree and put my money in it. I then sat on the edge of the branch I'm sitting there gazing up into the dark blue sky, looking at the shimmering stars, wondering if I'll ever see those people again. I climbed down and laid down the long tree and laid down on a bench and closed my eyes, events from today soon flashback into my head and then nothing, complete darkness took over my tired mind and restless body.
