Explosions rang out into the now cold air while people around me were crying, standing still in shock or were calling 911 and running towards the devastating crash site. I started to run with the crowd of people to the site but the smell of gas and blood stopped me in my tracks. Many recognized the horrid smell and also stopped but the whole scene was all complete chaos as soon as one of the cars went up in flames. The flames burned as bright as a star on the dark wavy road. I walked up in front of the now screaming crowd to see a figure in the car lay there lifeless, the head turned very slowly to look my direction but as I caught a glimpse of the head, there was nothing there.  The thing body didn't have a face it instead it had a black hole, I spun around quickly to just run and that's when I realize when everyone had black holes. The ground faded into a jet black color and then a warm deep red soon splashed onto my feet, Everyone just stood there like they were obeying orders, the air became thick and heavy making it hard to breathe, the temperature soon rose as well leaving me a sweating mess. But that's not what caught my attention, my attention went straight to other little kid standing in front of me. I couldn't see his face and every time I tried to speak to him a loud buzzing noise filled the air making me fall to the ground and screamed. I just sat there on the ground waiting for it all to end and it did eventually but the last thing I remember is yelling for my father, screaming for help as I feel like I was being pulled back into the ground  ...

I sat up screaming at the top of my lungs with my body drenched in sweat, I sat there recollecting my thoughts of what just happen till a very loud obnoxious voice broke through my thoughts.

"Alex" Jack screamed at me walking over to me,

"Jack what are you doing here?", I yelled back getting up from the tree branch.

"I wanted to let you know that I'm leaving", he said looking down at his feet.

"So you're just going to up and leave, just like that," I said getting frustrated while handing him his fair share of the profit from yesterday.

"Look, Alex, I'm tired of this shit man, stealing cars, running from the cops, trying to keep my head above the water because I got a little girl to look after" he yelled getting close to my face.

" And you think I'm not tired either, like seriously I'm homeless because of this bastard, I'm also trying not to screw things up as much as they are already" I yelled back standing my ground.

 "So your plan was just going to get the cash and leave without even telling the boss about this, he's going to hunt you down and kill you if you do this", I said to him, lowering my voice a bit.

"I don't care anymore Alex, If he was going to kill us he would have done it awhile ago dammit". He picked up his phone and placed it back into his pocket before walking back and getting in his civic, he rolled down his passenger window.

"Ima just say this one time, you need to get out of this situation and fast, like just leave the state"... But before he could finish, I cut him off with a phrase that only him and I would know 

"We talk a lot about hope, helping, and teamwork. Our whole message is that we are more powerful together" I bit my lip to hide the shame in my voice.

"What happened to that Jack, what happened to that promise that you made me when we almost died because we didn't do what he said...you know the one when you said you would never leave me", at this point a tear falls from my eye and onto my huge baggy hoodie. The look that Jack gave me was something along the lines of scared and apologetic.  Something seemed off and I don't know what exactly though but I know for sure that something has happened to Jack. But if he's leaving me alone with the boss then I'm going to have to watch my back even more than I already do. Jack sped off in his civic down the street and took a sharp turn left, disappearing behind a couple of cars. I grab my old bright red backpack and left the park heading to the Mall still wondering what could have happened to Jack since last night. on the way there a bunch of older teenagers maybe around the ages 19 or 18 was just giving me disgusted looks, like I was trash or something, I walked past them and picked up my speed hoping I could make it to the mall soon. After a while of walking, I finally made it to the overly populated mall and made my way into Hot Topic. Even then shopping was a hassle with employees watching my every move like I was going to steal something, After awhile though I got tired and headed to the main plaza where a group of people was chilling at. I looked closer at the crowded tables and noticed a girl who looked very familiar.  Well, I'll be damned if it were not Alyssa and Spike with other people eating pizza and laughing, I quickly hid behind a vending machine hoping they wouldn't see me like this and then I noticed the door. I then walked really fast behind people trying to make it to the door and thankfully I made it. I walked outside but as soon as I did I heard someone shriek my name, my quick reactions kicked in and I pretended I didn't hear them and walked behind a wall. I looked behind me and it looked like Spike ran after me but wasn't successful to catch up.He looked around trying to find me but ultimately gave up, I looked at his hands noticing that he was holding something. I looked even closer and noticed that it was my necklace that I wore last night. Crap I must have dropped it in the car when I got out. Spike then walked back inside plaza and I waited for a few minutes.  I then walked over to a nearby ice cream place that was across the street. I waited and ate my cookies and cream ice cream till it started to get dark. I decided to find another place to sleep since the trees were becoming uncomfortable. I walked behind the ice cream shop and seen a grassy field. I started walking towards the field till I heard footsteps behind me, at first I didn't think much of it but remembered that Jack left without telling the boss, I got chills just thinking about it so I walked faster hoping they wouldn't catch up to me. The footsteps started to run and then I mimicked him and did the same, The person was fast but wasn't fast enough to get me. I then ran out into the field and the person stopped following me. I couldn't see his face but his wide shoulders and muscular arms were glowing with orange tattoos. Maybe 5 inches taller than me, and he was a big guy. I hid behind the small hill in the middle of the field and just sat there. The coast was clear, the man left and it's safe so that I could get a couple of hours of sleep, So I lay there, but all night I tossed and turned. I  finally got up and looked into my backpack and saw an old picture of my use-to-be family. My mom is next to my grandmother and my dad holding me. I wish they were still here and then, maybe, I wouldn't feel so alone. My mom had her family living in Austin Texas, they thought that it was the perfect city in the whole wide world, and my dad hated his family because all they want from us is money and they would buy dope with it all the time. After a hurricane hit parts of Texas we received news that almost everyone in her family has died thanks to the storm. The rest of the family either passed away from being flooded or killed off one by one thanks for gang activity. My mother passed away from cancer and after that, my dad nearly drowned himself in whiskey every night. He soon cleaned up his act and started racing and it soon became his day job. Soon we got news that my grandmother had passed away in her sleep that alone killed me. Me and her we as close as a mother would be with her son, we had a tv show that we always watched together, it was an older show but since she died I could never get my self to watch it ever again. We were told that it was a natural cause of death and that he heart just simply stopped beating in the middle of the night, she didn't even suffer thankfully.  I soon felt cold tears roll down my cheek and eventually fell from my cheek onto the picture. All I want is for them to return and tell me it's going to be ok and to hold me one last time...
