Alice and the Mythical Dragon

Chapter 1

Alice started running as fast as her tired legs could carry her. She was in the woods. The sun was about to go down and she needed to find shelter. She had remembered the way she came but it was dark out so she couldn't see the path very well. She was trying not to hit all of the trees, but she hit quite a lot of trees. By the time she saw light up ahead she was badly bruised, but happy to have found shelter. The sun was about to set when she ran into town. She thought "I'll have to stay here tonight. There's not enough sunlight to make it home. But where could I stay? I have no money or anything else to give in a trade." She had decided to keep walking to see if anyplace would take her. As she walked into the town she saw a sign that read "Londonderry."

She realized that she knew exactly where she was. She had left the town because she was always called "The Outsider". Not just by the kids, but by everyone. What she didn't understand is that she was the only one who was actually born there. The reason why that happened is because there was a myth about being born there. Ruth, her mother, and Lee, her father, didn't believe the myth. The myth goes like "If you are born in Londonderry, you are cursed with part Dragon blood. Which means people think you are part Dragon. Which means you have the powers of any Dragon around you. Alice knew this wasn't true. Her town was once attacked by a Dragon, she tried to do what the myth said but failed and had her town destroyed. That was another reason she left.
