WHY ARE BLACK BOYS IMPORTANT? WHY DID WE CREATE THIS ACCOUNT? Here's the reasons why, the reasons why we want to pave a way so that black boys can look in books and know that they are represented. We want black boys to know that there's a version of themselves out there and they can read it. We want to encourage writers of all GENRES to come together and when they're thinking of creating a character they will think, wait...I need a black male.

We want the black male to be the protagonist or to be included with a heap of dialogue even as a supporting character. I've seen in movies and kids tv shows that somehow they make out that black males are scary and throughout their lives they are told that or shown that.

A person walking down a street would hold their bag tighter or run away or even feel scared when a black man asks them for directions but our team wants to break that perception, we want black men to be relieved of these pressures and be normal and not feel like they'll have to conform into the stereotype to fit in.

We want to educate people as well as bring in a little fun and laughter to make things a little entertaining. If we are going to represent we want it to be positive so that a black boy reading literature can feel like they can relate to that other character.
