"Hades" the vastness of the room acted as an amplifier until he could hear his own voice echoing his call. In front of him, a throne of pure blackness was empty. It did not remain so for very long. Black mist arrived through a hallway behind the throne and seemed to swirl around it. A figure appeared. He was at least ten feet tall, dressed in black silk robes and a crown of braided gold. His skin was albino white, his hair shoulder length and jet black. He radiated power. He lounged on his throne of fused human bones, looking lithe, graceful, and dangerousas a panther.
"Hecate" he said. He had sensed the goddess faint aura and though her to be in trouble and in need of aid. Then he saw who it was
"Nope, sorry. Even my own mom has to abide to the ancient laws. I'm her son, Alabaster" he said in a somewhat condensing tone. However he did bow. "I'm here to bear a message, it's from her and she says its crucial for you to listen to it" Hades frowned. He had thought Hecate had lost all her kin in the war against Kronos, apparently he was wrong. What really troubled him was that Hecate rarely called upon him unless the matter was urgent and worth listening
"So bid it and be on your way" he growled at the boy. Alabaster pulled out a card and tapped on it. A woman made of mist seemed to shimmer into existence.
"Hades, I have urgent matter to discuss, meet me out of our territories in Albania" with no further details on why she wanted to speak with him she vanished. Alabaster looked at him
"What's your answer my lord?" He asked
"Tell your lady that I will go" he said. Alabaster nodded and then Hades was cloaked by darkness. Walking down the hallway to his chamber he wondered why Hecate would even summon him, Hades, lord of the dead. Normally all actions went through his brother Zeus. He stopped. Unless of the matter involved his sphere of power directly, which meant someone was cheating Death. He snapped his fingers, deciding suddenly that preparations where a useless procedure.⚔⚡️⚔⚡️⚔⚡️⚔⚡️⚔
The forest where he appeared had been indeed very powerful back in the Greek times. It seemed to fill him up with that warm tingle that he felt when he claimed one more soul. Of course he no longer did that, not since he had found Thanatos. Mist seemed to gather in front of Hades. It formed a woman, she had golden hair that was gathered into a high-set ponytail, the Ancient Greek style. Her dress was so silky it seemed to ripple, as if the cloth were ink spilling off her shoulders.
"Hecate what is it you summoned me for?" He asked. Hecate waved her hand and mist coiled around them. Their background of trees faded and instead where replaced by a clearing. Hades sat and while waiting for Hecate to state her business his mind wandered off to the thought that even the gods have some limitations. Taking Hecate for example, one background cannot be changed entirely, it must have something as a base. She could not make something from nothing. The earth was created before they were even born, due to this they could not and would never be able to alter it completely.
"Hades" a voice jarred him out of his thinking. He looked up to find a hand in front of him" finally!" Hecate sighed in exaggerated relief. Hades scowled at her "I've been waving my hand in front of your face for a while now, do you usually do it"
"Do what" he said
"You know" she blanked her eyes, imitating him and Hades gave her a look of misunderstanding. Hecate huffed "fine, do you usually space out? I believe at is the term mortals use" Hades thought. Now that Hecate mentioned it he had heard Nico use it when they had been eating dinner at his dining hall
"Well, the answer to that is yes. Mortals find that achieving immortality is the ultimate goal. They are wrong, immortality is a curse. Living day after day after day, never aging, never dying, and doing the same schedule every day. It gets boring" he sighed "that's why I space out" Hecate huffed "ahh, you and your brother's problem is that you don't make contact with mortals" Hades glared at her "oh, fine. Rarely. You are bored because you haven't met mortals truly. You don't hold their dreams. Zeus's is explained by what mortals call science, Neptune is science as well. You however are different. They do not know what lies beyond death "he sighed.
"I am fairly certain you didn't call me to discuss about us"
"Ah yes" Hecate clapped her hands. A stick appeared in her hand. "This is what we are to discuss" she said. Hades leaned forward and idly observed it. The stick was a fairly simple thing. Not sophisticated, only a handle.
"We came to discuss a stick?" He said puzzled.
"No, we came to discuss a slight problem I have"
"and why should I help you?" He said. Hecate's eyes hardened
"you owe it to me Hades. I am the reason you daughter is alive" Hades sighed.
"You don't know?" He asked
"Hazel's been dead for some time. Ambushed" he said. Hecate sighed
"Well, if that wasn't enough incentive then this will" she reclined herself in her chair "the problem I have involves someone cheating Death" she said. This caught his attention
"What!"
"Yes, Hades. You heard me correctly. Let me tell you a story
