clowns aren't funny: a killer fog story

Chapter 1: Circus

I did not want to be here, my little sister wanted to go to the circus and my mom was making me take her ,so, here we were, there were elephants doing tricks, clowns in clown cars, and the tiger act where it jumped through fire covered hoops, the usual. I'm grounded so they only places I could go was school, home, and anywhere my mom told me to take my sister.

I got bored pretty easily and just stuffed my face with cotton candy. The clowns are what really creeped me out, especially this clown that just stared me down, he was the happy clown, the one who's makeup was very cheerful, but that just made it more creepy. I just couldn't believe mom made me come here knowing I hate clowns.

After a while, I was ready to go but my little sister, Mackenzie, was eager to stay "do I have a volunteer?" The magician said from the stage.

The magician sported a large top hat with a purple suit and a menacing smile. Mackenzie raised her hand hoping the magician would choose her, and he did.

"And what is your name my dear?" The magician asked Mackenzie as she walked up to the stage "Mackenzie" she said.

The magician was attempting to do the trick all magicians do, the saw the lady in half trick that i've only seen about a million times.

"Now step into the box" the magician said. The magician closed the box after Mackenzie laid down and began to put the saws in.

I rolled my eyes and ate the last bit of cotton candy on the roll. The magician pulled the box apart to reveal Mackenzie had been split in two, at least in gullible eyes.

After the show was over, I was so happy to finally leave that place and go home "that was so fun" Mackenzie exclaimed "yeah, for you, glad you had fun baby sis" I said as I opened the car door for her.

I got into the driver's side of the car and put the key into the ignition my phone then rang as I put on my seatbelt, it was my mom.

"Hello?" I said as I answered "hey, where are you guys?" Mom asked "the show just ended, we're on our way back" I said "okay see you when you get here" she said "okay, bye" I said before hanging up.

We lived about 30 minutes away from the circus and I was eager to get home and hang with my friend Gordon who was at a party.

As I drove closer to the house a shadowy figure walked in the middle of the street and I nearly hit it but managed to stop just in time.

"Shit! Hey watch it!" I exclaimed out the window but the figure, which was just some teenager, just kept walking. I drove home and parked in the driveway. I got Mackenzie out the car and mom came outside.

"Hey mom" I said "Hey, you enjoy the show?" Mom asked "me, no, Mackenzie had fun though" I said. We laughed and walked into the house.

I closed the door and took off my shoes "I'm so sleepy" I said with a convincing fake yawn "well good night, time for me to hit the hay too" mom said. I walked upstairs and into my bedroom where I proceeded to fall on my bed and get on my phone.

I started texting Gordon about the party "when does it start?" I texted "it already started when are you coming?!" Gordon texted "chill I'll be there as soon my mom and sister are asleep, like fast asleep" I texted back "okay see you when you get here ;P" he texted.

I waited an hour and a half for my mom and sister to fall asleep and when they finally did I slipped into some clothes for the party and put on some makeup and headed out my window nearly falling off the edge of the window but catching myself at the last minute.

The party was about four houses down from mine and I made my way over there as quickly as I could because being alone in the dark outside at night just freaked me out. When I finally made it, I was greeted by Gordon and his friends Dean and Phoebe "you finally made it" Gordon said "I know, my mom takes ages to fall asleep!!" I said.

We walked over to the snack table and I grabbed some snack mix and a cup of juice but I wasn't really eager to drink it because I could smell the liquor it was dosed with "you don't drink?" Gordon asked "no, not really" I said "but it's a party! We're supposed to be having fun" Dean said "being drunk doesn't seem all that fun to me either" Phoebe said "says the girl who voluntarily chugged beer?" Dean said making Phoebe angry "fuck you Dean!" Phoebe said.
