Sadness overload - Chapter 9 - (Final chapter)

At 8 pm, he started to pack his bags.

"I hope that your father will be better." I said.

"Yeah, I hope so."

"I.. I will sleep early, good night."

"...Night...."

When I already laid down, I cried a bit.

So the next day, about 1 pm, Chelsea and I accompanied Manu to the airport.

"We'll miss you..." Chelsea said.

"I'll miss you guys too." He said.

And then I hugged him, and kissed him.

"Bye. Chelsea."

"Bye, Manu..." She waved her hand.

"Goodbye, Chloe."

"Goodbye, Manu."

It had been a month since Manu contacted me. And I knew that I wasn't really okay with that, but what could I do? I tried to contact him, but he didn't respond.

But about a week later, he called me.

"Manu?"

"Hey Chloe, I'm sorry I haven't contact you for about a month, I'm really busy."

"It's okay.."

It wasn't.

"How's your dad?" I asked.

"He's better now.." He said.

"But still, I'm so sorry. I have a lot of assignments and exams from my school..." he continued.

"It's fine..."

It wasn't fine, God I need to stop lying to myself.

"My mom took my phone so I could concentrate more in studying.. I'm using my brother's phone now..." he said.

"Wait, what if your brother will contact me? I don't want that to happen.." Remember his creepy brother?

"Relax, I will delete it." he said.

"Okay."

"So... because of all of this... I think we should take a break..." he said.

"Wait, what?" I was surprised.

"It's hard for us to contact each other now... and I don't want you to be bothered of how unavailable I am now.."

"Really..?"

"I'm so sorry Chloe..."

"Well, I understand your condition..." I said.

"We still can be friends, right?" He said.

"...Y-Yeah..." I cried a bit and sniffed.

"Hey, are you crying?" He asked.

".. uh, no.. I'm having a flu."

God I need to stop lying.

"Ok.. I gotta go. Bye Chloe."

"...Bye." I quickly hang up and cried.

I was so devastated.
