Hello there and Happy New Year! :)

THIS IS MY ENTRY FOR KC-Blares' MEGA-ONE-SHOT-CONTEST!!! (IDMWJ / ICGI)

Since KC-Blares is one of my closest friends, and I really don't want to see the disappointment in her eyes again from NONE of her followers entering her last "One-Shot Contest", I've decided to enter this one!

So, this is obviously dedicated to KC-Blares because I know how hard she works on her stories, oftentimes staying up until the early hours of the morning to finish a chapter for her followers; who, as she strongly believes, don't appreciate the amount of work she truly puts into Wattpad. I just want to let you know that I love you girlie and I'll always be here for you "mi patita"!

Vote, Comment, Fan and Enjoy :)

Separated Sisters

I woke with a start and a cold chill ran through my entire body. I turned over to see that my bedroom window had been left open all night long. A cool morning breeze blew into my room, disturbing a pile of papers on my desk and rustling my hair as it hit my face. I rolled out of bed and trudged over to my window to close it.

I turned around, examined my room, and let out a long sigh.

I've been living in New York for around a year now, and all I can say about it is that it hasn't been that exciting. I mean, the school I go to now has an even better theatre program than my old school, which made me really happy when I'd heard about it. And on top of that, I haven't been bullied or harassed since I moved here. But, my life still feels a bit... empty.

I really miss my old group of friends, especially Abby Kalvins. She had always seemed like more of a sister to me than just a friend. We were pretty much inseparable. Whether it was in school or out and about, she was always by my side. But ever since I moved away from Ashington, I haven't even seen Abby.

I hugged my body as I turned back toward my window. There was a light snow falling, coating the quiet streets and houses with a layer of undisturbed fluff.

Suddenly, my stomach growled, snapping me out of my thoughts. It was loud, really loud. Actually, it was strangely loud, as if I hadn't eaten in multiple days.

In order to tame my now wild appetite, I head downstairs and into the kitchen. There, I pour myself a bowl of cereal, plop down on the couch, and turn on the television.

"...and what we're seeing here is a reported break in. But the shocking part of this story is that the criminal is believed to not even be human!"

Oh great, more bad news on TV. I swear that's all anyone hears from these news stations anymore! It's all "school shooting" this and "terrorists" that. Can I just watch some NCIS please? But for some reason, this particular news story caught my eye.

"This is not the first reported break in this month. Also, similar to the other cases, multiple scratch marks can be found on the exterior and interior of the home. Because of this, it is believed that an animal, most likely a bear or a wolf, was able to break into this suburban Connecticut home" the reporter continued. "But as for now, this is Sylvia Waters in Ashington, Connecticut."

I almost choked on my cereal.

Nothing truly exciting ever happened in Ashington before we had left, and now there were random animal invasions popping up out of nowhere?!

This news report wasn't helping me get over missing Ashington. In fact, it made me crave it even more. I desperately needed to visit Ashington or to at least just meet up with one of my old friends.
