I don't know if I've talked about a character's emotions and how much they can develop your character. Some writers neglect their character's emotions and instead just focus on what the character is doing rather than how they are feeling.
I'm not saying have massive chapters full of just how your character is feeling but make sure your reader knows how your character is feeling at certain.
This will help to develop your character as well as breaking up your text if your story is mainly describing your character's actions. Emotions can make your writing sound believable and can show off your descriptive skills; the reader isn't really going to see the credibility in your book if someone close to your character dies and they don't react to it.
