Three //Juno// Purple? Really?

Juno

My eyes were purple.

My eyes were

fucking

purple.

I had woken up merely 10 minutes ago, still at the stage in front of the audience and the pastor looming over me.

Back then, my head had been throbbing with new life and I had waited until the dizzy rush stopped once I had stood up. Then I opened my eyes.

And my newly ultra sensitive hearing did not miss the numerous gasps and mutters of, "What could this mean?"

I frowned. Shouldn't they be happy? They were happy about half an hour ago. Hell, I bet they were even happy while they watched my dead body phase. They must have had fun being the Edward Cullen to my Bella.

So why weren't they happy now?

When even the pastor let out a choked sound of surprise, I lost it. I turned to him, my eyes flashing gold.

"What's wrong with you and everyone else? Is there something I should know?" I said, closing in on the terrified man.

He stuttered, hurriedly grabbing the mirror that they kept for the newly phased to see themselves after the Change. And when I saw my face, I gasped as well.

Everything about my face was still what it had always been. The same olive skin with my curly, dark brown hair tickling the sides of my face. The same sharp cheekbones that many envied me for.

But there was something different.

I had known my eyes would change colour. Everybody did.

...No Changed One's eyes had ever changed to purple before.

And mine were a brilliant, stunning violet that was somewhere between blue and purple and seemed to hold a galaxy within them.

And as pretty as it was, I knew it definitely wasn't normal. In fact, even someone as strong as my mother only ever had abnormally gold eyes even without her emotions intensifying. Never purple.

I looked to my mom now for help, who seemed to be just as shocked as everyone else, but you could only tell if you knew her well. When she met my eyes, there was a question in them that I couldn't decipher. Then, the worry seemed to disappear and she regained her calm, icy demeanour.

She stood up and strode towards me, her presence so powerful in the room with just this little motion. Everybody watched her as she came up to me, took my hand and led me away from the stage into the wings.

And then the whispers got louder.

My mother turned to me, analyzing my eyes. After a while, she smiled. "This is spectacular."

I frowned at her, confused. "It is?"

She seemed to glow with a joy that was hardly controllable. "It is! I can't tell you until you find out yourself, but I'll give you a hint: You're quite possibly the most powerful vampire alive right now, and you haven't even chosen Malevolence or Benevolence yet."

I still didn't understand why, but I got the basics; from the minute I was born I wouldn't be treated normally, like the other Changed Ones.

Malevolence and Benevolence were, if I were to put it into simple words, Evil and Good. Most people lingered right in between, but the ones who chose a definite side were much more powerful than them. As for the side my Mother was on? She hadn't told me yet, and I had a feeling I didn't want to know.

Though I understood all this, I couldn't help raise a confused eyebrow at Mother. "But why does that matter?"

Mom widened her eyes as if she was shocked I'd even ask that question. "You know by now what I have taught you to live by."

I snapped out of my momentary curiosity and curled my lip at Mother, mirroring her sly expression. Her fangs had come out, and I had a painful (seriously, OW!) feeling that so had mine.

"Of course.

Power

I'm sorry I haven't updated lately, I've been really busy with school, but don't worry, I've been writing behind the scenes!

I'll update tomorrow maybe, but even if one doesn't come out tomorrow I'll still have worked on another chapter a lot.
