Hey, guys! Are you ready for another competition?
This contest will be slightly different from the last as we will be asking you to write a scene based on a list of prompts. You may choose one of the following:
1) Someone is discovering their powers for the first time - could be a hero or villain.
2) A hero reveals their secret identity to a loved one.
3) A villain is constructing their evil plan.
4) Someone is going costume shopping - could be a hero or villain.
5) The aftermath of a hero losing in battle to a villain.
RULES
- There is one entry per member.
- This week won't have the pairings assignment, but will count as a strike if you didn't complete the previous week and this new one as well. So, I highly recommend for the ones that didn't complete the previous week to complete on this one to remove the strike.
- There is a word limit of 600 words. Please stick to this limit, otherwise, there will be penalties and in some cases, disqualification if it is far over the limit.
- Your characters must be original i.e. you cannot use your main protagonist of one of your preexisting books - I will be checking! However, they can be part of teams such as Task Force X, Avengers, Winter Guard, etc.
PRIZES
First Place: A free cover made by MariaFA, to be the Highlighted Book for next week which all members must read and a shoutout on this account.
Second Place: A free cover made by MariaFA and a shoutout on this account.
Third Place: A shoutout on this account.
The Highlighted Book will mean that next week there will also be no pairings, but members are required to read and comment on at least two chapters (not including the prologue) of the winning book.

Scene (where you put the piece of writing):
Please send all entries to us either in the comments or by PM (if it's near the 600-word limit, it will not fit in a single comment/message).
This contest will be judged by myself, MariaFA and thegreatcycle.
The deadline for entries is Friday 23rd September at 11:59PM (GMT). Please ensure that you meet this deadline, otherwise, your entry will not count.
STRIKES:
I am rather disappointed with the number of people who failed to complete last week's assignment. Please do not wait for your partner to have commented on your book before completing your end of the assignment, as your partner could be doing the same thing and both of you will receive strikes. If this lack of participation is continued in this week's contest, we may consider closing this book club - so please make an effort to participate!
Those Who Have Strikes:
Holly (ghostholly) - 1 from Week 5
Liz (Capsicle_irl) - 2 from Week 5 and 10
Levi (levidavidbrunner) - 1 from Week 10
Not_Just_Anonymous (Not_Just_Anonymous) - 1 from Week 10
River (RiversOfWords) - 1 from Week 10
Jayden (jayden1454) - 1 from Week 10
Question of The Week: Should the Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes (MCU) be considered a villain?
My Answer: I don't think so. I know that the things he did when he was controlled were really bad (soz Tony), but at the end of the day, you can see that he's remorseful about what he's done once he's broken from his trance. Also, I think they should've put in the end credit scene with Cap or T'Challa finally giving Bucky some goddamn plums.
If you are thinking of participating, answer the Question of The Week!
See you on the dark side (or next week when we've announced the winners, whichever takes your fancy),
Charis xo
GOOD LUCK!
