Never saw it coming

Robert's Pov

It's been two weeks now and things are going okay. Mark is still on my back though. But I just piss him off and get a laugh from doing so. It's the fact that he used to be one of my best friends and he fucking went behind my back and dated my ex girlfriend. Who the hell does that? And then he has the cheek to tell me that Hannah is his daughter and not mine. Ha! My ass.
I woke up early. To be specific, 6 in the morning, and I decide to go a run. I put on my black sweats, and black jumper along with my black gloves since it's November and strangely freezing, might I add. Quietly I wrote a note saying that I was away a run and that I would be back soon, just so that Stace wouldn't worry. I know Mark wouldn't give a crap.
I opened the front door silently, locking it behind me. Stretching first, I decided to run along the riverside. I put in my earphones and listened to some Linken park while I ran.
10 minutes into my run, I noticed a mom and her little girl, I smiled as I watched the little girl play around with her pony she had in her left hand. She was lovely. She had beautiful brown hair, reminding me of Hannah and she looked around 6. She was wearing her little princess school bag. Her mom had a stroller with an adorable little baby boy in it-I have always wanted a little boy- and stopped at the lights, waiting to cross the road. It was just a matter of time when I watched in terror as the mom got distracted as the child in the stroller dropped his toy. As she bent down to pick it up, she removed her eyes from her daughter for two minutes.
The little girl, clueless, ran into the middle of the road as a jeep was coming. "Shit! No!" I screamed and sprinted into the middle of the road, just in time to push her out of the way, making her fall backwards to safety. It all happened so fast. I turned my head to be met head to head with bright lights. I met eyes with the little girl's mom, who seemed to have been screaming her head off, but i couldn't hear anything around me, only a loud horn before I closed my eyes tight. After that all I felt was numbness and pain.

Stacey's Pov

I woke up come face to face with a note on the bed-side table. I read it and it was from Robert saying that he was away a jog. I continued down the stairs to get breakfast and then wake Hannah up.
I haven't told mark about the kiss between Robert and I. I miss Robert like hell. I was feeding Hannah some banana laughing as she mashed it all over and down her face. Mark walked to us, smiling. I need to tell him. "Hi" he said and I gave him a fake smile "hi" I mumbled. After a moment, I built up the confidence. "Mark?" I asked and he turned around to face me with a smile on his face "yeah, babe?" he said and I let out a long sigh. "I have something to tell you-" I was cut off to my phone ringing. I quickly answered it. "Hello?" I asked and it was my friend Lizzy. She was frantically yelling in my ear, making me wince. "OH MY GOSH! STACEY! IT-IT'S ROBERT HE-!" I widened my eyes. "Lizzy, calm the fuck down, what is Robert doing? What happened?" I asked, starting to worry. She calmed herself. It sounded like she was crying? "S-Stacey, Robert was-was in a-a car accident" she sobbed and I gasped. "But he couldn't of been, he was...he never took a car, he only went for a jog, Lizzy what are you-." I told her and she took a deep breath. "Listen to me..He was the one without the car Stacey..He got knocked down.." She said and I fell onto my knees. "NO!!!" I screamed, making Hannah stop mashing banana with her stubby fists and causing Mark to flinch.
I started to cry.
"Mark-w-we-ha-have to go"
