(Im trying to keep this pg so uh)

Alexander could never forget the day when he met Maria Reynolds. It seemed like yesterday, after all, Maria begged him to "Stay." He flinched at the thought of Eliza knowing, but the guilt was unbearable, but he couldn't let the secret get out, it would be the end of his career and his relationship.

He would walk to Maria's house, and then things would happen. He kept on doing this for weeks, even write letters, and even when Eliza was back.

Why would he do this? He never knew why, was there a reason? He didn't know.

His guilt swallowed him, as if a void was inside of his stomach.

It was a day with Maria, as always. They were chatting.

"Alexander.. How are you?" Maria said in a soothing voice, drinking some tea.

"Im doing fine, Maria, how are you?"

"Oh.. Just enjoying the beautiful season.."

Alexander sipped some tea, gulping it and placing it back down.

"How is that.. wife of yours." She said, with a bitter voice.

"Oh- sh- she's doing just fine." Alexander replied, sweating slightly.

Maria walked over and sat by Alexander, he felt guilty, and so many emotions.

"Are you tired? Do you need a nap?" She asked, looking at him.

"W-well sure.." Alexander looked to the side.

Alexander felt bad for Maria, considering her husband was not loyal, and was just plain off disrespectful to Maria.

Maria grabbed Alexanders hand, taking him to her bedroom. They lay down and took a nap, but Alexander disliked the feeling of sleeping with someone else.

He woke up, in her bed, he looked around, sweating. "Did w-"

"No, you fell asleep and I did too." She laughed.

Alexander nervously laughed. "Ha.. Well- I must go, sorry for not spending a lot of time with you today."

Maria's smiled turned into a frown. "Alright Alexander.. See you later."

He grabbed his stuff and walked out of the house, and walked to his house, sighing, thinking about his choices.

Who would he choose?
