*Beep! Beep! Beep!*

"Ugh..." Mio rolls over and turns off her alarm. It reads 6am. Mio sits up and rubs her eyes. "Didn't get a wink of sleep." She adjusts her bed head hair and gets up. "I really don't want to do this" Mio mumbles to herself. She walks over to the light switch and turns on the lights, walks over to the mirror and starts doing her hair. "I look like a mess.... Wow." She brushes her dark brown and blue hair and ties it back. Puts on a tank top then a light gray hoodie. Pulls on a pair of black pants with a red stripe up them. "Anything I'm forgetting...?" Mio quickly glanced around her room. "Nope... " Mio runs out and turns of the lights on the way out.

"Morning honey how was your night?" Her mom asks as Mio stumbles past her. "What sleep?" Mio mumbles.
"Watch that tone, Mio."
"I'm sorry mom, I'm not looking forward to another four years of hell."
"MIO! *sigh* I told you that this year was a do over. It will be different this time. Put the years of heck behind us."
Mio glares at her mom and grabs her bag. "Not bloody likely." She mumbles quietly to herself. Then walks over to the counter and packs her lunch.

"Mio, are you ok?" Her mom asks. Mio doesn't answer and proceeds to pack her lunch. She finished and stuffed it in her bag. "Mio?" She asks again. Mio looks up from her bag and shakes her head no. "Mio, I-" "Mom, I uh.. Don't want to talk right now." Mio walked over to the door and slipped on her shoes. "Mio!" Her mom yelled and she quickly turned her head around. Her mom tossed her an inhaler. Then another. "Thanks... I guess." Mio shoved one in her pocket and the other in her bag. Then walks out the door and to her new bus stop.

Mio reached the bus stop and there are kids from her old school. A lot of kids. She pulls her hood over her head. The kids stare then start to whisper. And giggle.
Her we go again. Mio thinks to her self. She gives them a glare and they burst out laughing. Mio pulls her hood down to cover her face. She wasn't crying, but she didn't want them to see that she was about to. They wait and wait. She heard them talk about her. She knew her year was going to be hell.

The bus pulls up and every one pushes her out of the way and on to the ground. Some even tried to step on her but Mio moved. One by one the freshmen climb the stairs and laughed at Mio. Mio stands up and brushes off the dirt. She puts her hood back on and climbs the steps of the bus and sits down.

As they drive from stop to stop Mio stares out the window. She listens to the conversations around the bus. She watches students look for a place to sit. They look at Mio and and walk past her.
Just like the past 10 years. Mio thinks to herself. She sighs and continues to look out the window. Tomorrow I remember earbuds. Listening to music is better then listening to all the crap they talk behind my back. ... Even though it's true.

The bus pulls up to the school and the kids get out. Mio was last of the bus because every one shoved her out of the way. When she finally got out and checked her time table. "So, math class. Fun." Mio said sarcastically. Why even bother coming to school Mio thinks as she begins to walk to class. It's pointless really. We're all going to die one day so what's the point. What's the point of a lot of things really... Like life... Mio's mind beings to wonder

She reached math class and took her seat at the back of the class. All the other seats were taken. Why I even bother learning math. It's pointless in the real world. The real world is living hell. Class went on and on. Teachers... I can't understand. After 14 years of school and 5 years of university, they choose to come back to this place...I can't understand. The teacher Ms. G. looks like she could collapse any second. She was so old and really boring to listen to. This teacher is so close to freedom. So close to death. She didn't pay attention. Mio only got two words out of the hour and 15 minutes of class. They were "hello." And "goodbye."

After math, Mio swam through the sea of people to get to her next class. Gym. Finally something she was descent at. She loved to run. She actually semi looking forward to this class. Once she reached the gym, Mio walked to the chance room and got changed. Ugh. Can't I get changed in the washroom. It weird changing in front of people. There probably judging me. Who wouldn't. I'm short and ugly. Let's not even mention the hair. And it's teachers job to judge us. So...  After Mio finished changing, she left the changing room and began warming up. The gym teacher, Ms. Armstrong enters the room and blows her whistle. Wow. She's annoying. Like me... "LINE UP LADIES!!" Ms. Armstrong yelled. All the 26 girls line up, back to the wall. "Today we will be doing quick sprints. Just to see where your at. Plus the track meats coming up in a few months so Mr. Brent and I are tiring to from a descent team this year." Ms. Armstrong announced. Yes! Finally something worthwhile.

Outside, one by one the girls ran the 100 metre dash. Each being timed and judged by Ms. Armstrong. The rest of the girls began to stretch, except for three girls in the back, they looked like they didn't give a single crap. "Gwen your up!" One of the three girls in the back moaned and walked towards the track. Wow. That kid looked like I did in math class.  After 10 other girls it was Mio's turn. She walked over with a smirk on her face. The time to beat is 18:57 seconds. She could bet that in a heart beat. She gets ready for the sprint. The teacher blows the whistle and Mio takes off. Full sprit. Mio loves the felling of wind through her hair. She's not running fast because she wants on the track team. She's running fast because she loves to run. Mio lives of the feeling of the wind through her hair. When she runs she feels free.

Sprinting over the finish line. Ms. Armstrong pressed the button on her stopwatch. "Wow, 11 seconds flat. Mio I'm impressed." "Thanks..." Mio said quietly. "Can you run the 200 for me?" Ms. Armstrong asked. Why does she need me to run the 200. I'll do it. I mean why not. "Sure... Why not."

Mio goes to the starting line for the 200. The other 25 girls sat on the grass wondering why did the have to watch this. "On your mark." Here we go "Get set. GO!!" Mio starts her sprint. Darting from the starting line.

100 metres down, 100 to go. Then suddenly she starts feeling a burning sensation in her lungs. She slows down almost to a stop and lets out a wheezing cough. Every breath feels like knives against her back. I can't breathe, she bends down resuming fetal position coughing out yellow phlegm on to the ground beside her. Mio clutched her back while she shook and quivered uncontrollably. What the hell is happening to me? I've never had one this bad before.... She began to feel dizzy and all the voices of curious bystanders began to blur together. "We need to call 911- is she dead?-Gross..." Then it all went black.
