Chapter 5

"Miss me?" the familiarity in his voice was irritating me. I knew that voice. I knew it all too well.

"Answer me, Noelle." His grip got tighter around my waste. Wincing, I nodded in response.

"Your mother can't take you away from me now."

I froze. It was like every muscle in my body stiffened. Those words made me realize who it was.

My dad.

Kicking and squirming was all I could do. In a matter of seconds, I was thrown to the ground after hearing him groan loudly. Pain rushed through my hand as blood dripped from it. I glanced at where I was once standing, and saw a tall, dark figure. His hand outstretched towards me.

"Noelle, you're fine. I'm here. He's gone." It was Harry.

"What did you do?!" I yelled as I saw my father's body laying on the cold ground, motionless.

"Eh, he'll wake up later. But for now, you need to get out of here. I figured out where your mother and sister are. They're at a store with my sister and mother. Go to my house, I'll take care of your dad." he spoke softly.

I didn't know what to do. I hardly knew this kid and he already "saved" me from my own psychopathic father. I decided to do what I wanted to do. Quickly, I darted towards the front door and followed down the street.

Please don't let him follow me. Please leave me alone. Please just keep me away from him. I kept saying to myself mentally.

Trying to catch my breath, I stopped at the end of the street. My face turning red, sweat dripping down my face, breath unsteady.

"Noelle? Are you....okay?" I turned my head and saw Mr. Bailey standing on the steps of their white, wooden porch.

"Y.....Ye....Yeah. I'm f-fine. Just a little out of b....breath," I managed to say between heavy breaths.

He furrowed his eyebrows and slowly nodded, "If you say so..."

I kinda smiled, but mentally slapped myself. Looking behind me, I didn't see Harry. That's a good thing... maybe.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A/N: Sorry it took so long to update. ._. I kinda forgot about it. Haha. So there wasn't a cliffhanger this chapter. The next chapter will be in Harry's POV. It will be what he did while she ran away. Comment what you though of this chapter. Not very good in my opinion.
