Chapter 17

Andi did make a pretty good point. Why did I listen to Keith? I didn't even like the guy. I can't believe that I let my guard down so easily. But, that's over now, and now I get to have a one-on-one conversation with Andi at her house tonight. Shit. I didn't know her address. 

I wondered if I could find her before class. I might have thought to long cause as i am walking, I all of a sudden the bell rang. I was late to class of course. . . again. Hopefully Mr. Oswald would let me off on a warning.

I walked in and I was really only about 1-2 minutes late so I am pretty sure that I got off detention free. But I would have to ask Andi after this stupid class was over. 

I think I must've fell asleep because I heard the bell ring. I tried to quickly grab my stuff and run out the door, but then Mr. Oswald stopped me. "Stop right there, Mr. Novoa." he said, "I let it slide after you came in late, but then see you falling asleep in my class?" Shit. "I wasn't asleep, I was just uh. . . so interested in today's lesson that I couldn't keep my eyes open." Nice Jax. Nice.

"Mhm. So since you were so interested in today's lesson, why don't you tell me your favorite part?" he said. "Oh, uh. . . my favorite part. . . it was uh. . . the animals." Great. "What about the animals?" I officially gave up. "Fine yes, I was asleep." "Well then, maybe you can refresh the lesson today after school in detention then." What? No. I could not have detention. Not today. Andi would kill me. And I can't skip because I can't get into even more trouble or else I could possibly get kicked out of this school.

"Um. . .today? I'm kinda busy today, how about I go to detention tomorrow?" I asked. "Nice try kiddo, but you should've thought of your plans before you fell asleep in my class." I was screwed. I guess I had to tell Andi that I couldn't make it tonight. Great. She was gonna kill me.
