13 years old (8th grade)

Tyler (Ty)-

I walked into the middle school with Spencer and the guys.

Spencer was wearing jeans shorts that showed her long tan legs. She also had on a grey t-shirt that had the number 32 on it. She was about my height which is about 5'5.

Spencer was joking around with the guys when we walked into class. Spencer sat by me and everyone else sat around us.

I looked over at Spencer smiling. She has changed so much since 2nd grade. She was beautiful in second grade but now she's even more beautiful. Her personality hasn't changed much just a little more mature.

She now plays for the varsity softball team and works at the café as a waitress! She is only thirteen!

"Ty? Are you okay?" She asked her blue/green eyes sparkled as she looked at me with concern.

"Y-yeah. Why do you ask?"

"You were staring at me and you kinda just zoned out." She said smiling a bit. "Plus you didn't answer me." She smirked winking at me.

"What did you ask?"

"I asked you if you had a game tonight."

I shook my head. "No. Why?"

"I wanted to know if you could come to my game." She said smiling biting her bottom lip.

I nodded not trusting myself to speak.

She smiled. "Ight."

The teacher came in and began to drone about U.S. history.

I watched as Spencer throughly took notes. She looked adorable.

Wait, where did that come from?! She's my best friend. Nothing else. I shouldn't have feelings for her.

"Ty!" Someone yelled bringing me back to Earth.

"Ty, are you sure everything is okay? You're not acticing like you." Spencer furrowed her eyebrows.

"I'm fine."

She didn't believe me but nodded anyways.

"O-okay. Well, I'm going to the gym. I'll see you around, okay?" She said, eyeing me closely.

"Wait. Can I come with?" I asked.

She shrugged. "If you want."

We walked into the gym and put our bags down. Spencer went and got a basketball. She came to the middle of the floor dribbling.

She waved me over. "Are you coming you big oaf?!"

I shook my head smiling and walked over to her.

She threw the ball at me, right to my chest.

"You're going to be offense first."

I nodded and began to dribble the ball. I tried going around her but she swiped the ball out of my hands and went to the other side of the court making a layup.

"You know, you really suck at basketball."She laughed.

"Oh, is that so?" I aksed walking up to her.

She nodded. She began to back away. She turned around but before she went anywhere I grabbed her by her waist pulling her back to my chest spinning her around.

She screamed laughing. "Okay! Stop! You don't suck at basketball!"

I laughed putting her down but keeping my arms where they are. "What was that?"

"You don't suck at basketball." She siad. I let her go. She took a few steps back. "You don't just suck at basketball you really, realy suck at basketball." She smiled running away as I chase her.

I tackled her down. We were both laughing like maniacs. We settled down staring at each other.

Spencer cleared her throat breaking us out our trance.

"I'm sorry." I said helping her up.

"It's fine. It's just you have a girlfriend....and if someone happened to walk in...I just don't like rumors about me, let alone you." I nodded.
