A football game played on the television. A yellow and blue team heading off against a black and red team. The score weighing heavily in the yellow and blue team's favor.

Beau Swan hadn't shifted once on the couch. On his left, Emmett was lazily watching the football game, his black eyes not really tracking any main movement on the screen. Rosalie, who was sitting directly on his right and underneath Beau's arm, was reading a magazine.

"Are you cold?" Edward's voice asked, causing everyone to look over.

Bella nodded, skinny body shivering as she tried to cup her sleeve upwards to cover her cold hands.

"I got it," Jacob said, moving his large body in order to drape himself halfway beside Bella. Bella sighed at the warmth the werewolf let out and smiled softly.

Jacob scoffed, "Don't do that."

"Do what?" Bella asked sleepily.

"Smile like I'm you're favorite person in the world,"

"You're one of them," Bella said, and Beau didn't miss how Jacob's eyes softened.

Just as Jacob was about to reply, Bella dry heaved roughly. In an instant, Edward was placing a trashcan underneath Bella's mouth, waiting for her to spit up whatever she'd managed to eat a few hours earlier.

"We need to see if we can get her to eat something," Esme said, eyeing Beau's sister with a pout.

Jacob snorted slightly, and Edward's eyes landed on him in an instant. They shared a brief look, and then Edward was nodding. "I think you might be right. Jacob just had an idea,"

"It wasn't an idea as much as it was a snide comment," Jacob said, rolling his eyes.

"What were you thinking?" Carlisle asked, crossing his arms over his chest. Generally curious.

"That's it's probably just looking for somebody to sink it's teeth into," Jacob drawled, smiling like he thought the comment was funny but didn't want to fully laugh out loud.

Bella moved silently on the couch to look at Edward, "He's thirsty?"

"I know the feeling," Emmett said, and Beau nodded his head in agreement.

Though he was no longer a raging newborn, the time he could go without feeding with still shorter than the Cullens by a few hundreds years of experience. His throat was on fire, and he had a feeling he'd have to take down twice as many deer's as he normally would in order to quench it.

"If it's craving something, it's not going to want animal blood," Edward said, looking up at Carlisle.

"I have some O-Negative I'll lay aside for Bella," The blonde doctor replied, moving away from the living room in order to do what he said he would.

Alice turned towards Jasper then, "Walk with me?"

Jasper didn't move, and so Alice grabbed his hands. Slowly, Jasper took Alice's hands into his own and let his mate lead him outside so the temptation wouldn't be to strong when Carlisle returned with the blood. Emmett soon followed afterwards, giving Bella a sorrowful look for not being strong enough to resist as well.

Rosalie and Beau shared a look, and Beau knew what she was telling him.

"I'll be fine," He said, voice stern. "I can control myself."

"Don't push-"

"I'll be fine," Beau insisted, cutting off Rosalie in order to give her a tight smile. "It's not even that bad."

"Only if you're sure," Rosalie said, placing a comforting hand onto Beau's knee.

Just as the words left Rosalie's mouth, Carlisle came around the corner with a white styrofoam cup and Beau smelt the blood instantly. His mouth filled with venom at the irony smell. His tongue felt dry and his throat was beginning to burn rapidly. The O-Negative blood smelled differently than animal blood, and Beau felt his nostrils flare.
