Zane and I huddled together under a tree, to keep warm.
"Do you miss them?" I asked
"Yeah, of course I do" he said
"What are we gonna do for food?" I asked
"I saw a farm somewhere, so tomorrow we can head there I guess"
I reached my hand in one of the pockets, I felt something in it. I pulled out a picture of the family, I put my hand in the other and pulled out a 100$ bill and a note
I saved up this money for you, I wish we could live together but that's not an option now.
I started to cry again, Zane scooted closer and read the note. Then he started to cry
"He said "we gathered enough evil magic" does that mean we're evil?" I asked
"What you did earlier was black magic, so I mean"he said
"Don't answer that"
"He gave us some money" I smiled
I wiped the tears away
"Heh, that's Garroth for ya always staying strong. That's the first time I've ever seen him cry" he said
"Yeah, he was always stood tall"
I drifted off to sleep, I woke up the next morning and saw Zane cooking something over a fire
"Mm, chicken over a wheat fire. I'm so hungry I could even eat the wheat" he said
"Where'd you get the wheat and the chicken?" I asked
"I stole the wheat, and kill the chicken using my sword" he beamed
"At least I have food" I said
"No, I have food, your going hunting for food"he said
I punched his arm, and walked away holding my sword. I was still wearing the blue sweater Garroth gave me, and Zane was wearing Vlad's
I killed a chicken and then cooked it over the dimming fire, Zane was furiously hitting a tree. I walked over to him and picked up a leaf, I clenched it and it turned to dust.
"I know how to control it" I said
"But I don't" Zane said, he punched it as hard as he could "they thought we were gonna kill them all"
"Yeah, and they think we're evil, but they're wrong"
"I'm gonna practice my magic, you go for a walk or something" he said
I walked in the direction of the market, I jumped into a tree and saw Garroth and Vlad walking in the same direction. Vlad was crying, and Garroth was patting his back.
I jumped down and put the hood over my head, Vlad came running over to me and hugged me
"I missed you" he said
"Get away Vlad, I might "hurt" you" I said
"Zoey, I'm sorry" Garroth said
"I know damn right your not" I growled
I walked to him and started punching the silver armor he was wearing, it turned to dust and disappeared. I felt like I was being lifted up
"Damn you Zoey for having a heart" I heard Zane's voice say
Garroth grabbed Vlad's hand and ran away
"Put me down!" I yelled
Now everyone was looking at us, he dropped me. I pulled out my sword
"Now Vlad's afraid of us" I said
"That'll teach him to stay away from us" he said
"But he's our brother, how could you be so heartless!" I yelled
He stood there
"Did you forget that we were made fun of, that we were call "the heartless twins"?" He asked "every day?"
I ran away, the money was in my pocket. I bought myself a loaf of bread, and broth. It was noon, and I still haven't seen Zane since earlier this morning.
Soon enough I ran into three kids playing in the forest, I hid behind a tree and eves dropped on their conversation
"I want to be the hero that saves the princess" the blue haired one said
"But I already picked Laurance" the black haired girl said
"Yeah, so back off" the so called Laurance said
I felt someone push me closer to them, I turned around and saw a blue haired girl with blue eyes pushing to them
"She was spying on you" she said
The boys pulled out there sword and pointed them at me, I pointed my sword at them. The black haired one stepped forward
"Did you want to play with us?" She asked
"Aren't you friends with Garroth?" I asked in the voice both me and my brother use to act serious
"Yeah actually-"
"The jerk that took me and my brother out in the rain to tell us we're to evil to live with him, YOUR FRIENDS WITH HIM?!" I yelled
"Garroth wouldn't-"
"OH BUT HE DID, YOU SEE HE WAS JUST "FOLLOWING" ORDERS AS USUAL WASNT HE?!"
I was pushed down, got up and saw a black haired boy wearing a mask
"You don't just yell at people you just met" he said
"Shut up" I said
He punched me in my face, I fell down. I got up and picked up a branch
"You mortals are like trees, cut down by others or just die of old age" I snickered
The branch turned to a black dust
"And when you pick a fight with another, you die slowly and painfully. We could do this the hard way, or the way that I let you go that of course would be the easy"
They all stared at me in horror
"I've been through a lot, killing would be the least of my worries" I smirked "and I wouldn't even have to draw my sword"
"T-that's not witch craft or magicks, that black magic. Y-your evil!" The girls shrieked
They ran off, the boys stayed and just looked at me in horror. I ran at the one without a shirt on and sliced through his red sweater that was unzipped.
"Now I don't want to see you again" I said "and if I do, I'll end you"
They ran off, I walked to the spot where me and Zane had slept last night. I wander why I said "you mortals" it's just a part of me blurted it out I thought
