1. Forgotten Birthday Present

BEEP BEEP BEEP *alarm going off*
Wait.
You've gotta be fucking kidding me.
Today is my very bestfriend, Minjoo's birthday and I completely forgot to get her a present..!
We have this little tradition were we get each other a box of pocky sticks and build little towers out of them and stuff. Yeah I know it's lame but that's our friendship and our friendship is very weird. I should probably get ready now!!
20 minutes later-
Okay. I think I'm ready now.
I quickly pulled over Minjoo's favorite sweater that she likes on me and I quickly ran towards my bike. Yes I ride a bike. MY PARENTS DONT TRUST ME WITH A CAR SINCE ILL PROBABY SET IT ON FIRE OR SOMETHING. Plus it's healthier and everyone is always saying I need to be more active; I'm basically a potato version of a human. Hence why I forgot to buy my bestfriend her pocky!! Damnit why am I such a forgetful person..
I should be able to make it on time to Minjoo's apartment with a gift and still be able to walk her to school. Yeah. Hopefully.

"Thanks for your purchase.Please come again soon!"  The cashier at the corner store had already saved me a box of Minjoo's favorite pocky since I had previously asked him the day before.
12 minutes.
I only have 12 minutes to make it on time to pick up Minjoo and walk to school. Times like these make me realize how irresponsible and forgetful I am. WHO FORGETS THEIR BESFRIEND'S BIRTHDAY!?

I quickly peddled my bike in the direction of Minjoo's apartment , making sure to check my surroundings for any "sasaengs". They often come and follow me on my daily activities since my dad used to be in some really big Kpop group.
" OPPA YOURE JUST AS HANDSOME AS YOUR FATHER YOONGI, LET ME TAKE SOME PICTURES WITH YOU!!"
"JAEIL WERE ONLY A FEW YEARS APART LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT REAL LOVE IS"
^^ things that the sasaengs commonly tell me whenever I'm out in the public. The crazy thing is , most of those kids go to my school so I have no idea why the treat me like this. I mean. You get to see me every day, why follow me out im the public like this???
Anyways I had already called Minjoo in advance so that she could open the door as soon as I got there and not let any crazy stalkers get in the house; Im about two blocks away from her house so if all goes well, we should be able to eat some pocky sticks and head on over  to school! I don't know why but everytime I think of her , my heart feels funny. My dad says I'm probably in love with Minjoo but I doubt that. I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT LOVE FEELS LIKE!!
My dad is always teasing me about my friendship with Minjoo but I just wish he could tell me what I'm feeling, and actually be serious for once.. If I do have a few feelings for her, I hope that she won't feel the same way. I don't want to bore anyone with my existence and I definitely do not want to fuck up my friendship with her.

"PABO OPEN UP THE DOOR/ THE SASAENGS ARE GETTING CLOSER!!"
I desperately banged on the door and hoped Minjoo would open up soon. I don't want their nasty stalker hands on Minjoo's favorite sweater of mine.. Oh god. Here's the feeling again. First my heart beats all quickly and then my stomach fills up with butterflies. It happens everytime I think about her but I don't know what it means so I usually just attempt to  ignore it.
I hear a lock turn and quickly rush into Minjoo's house. 
" Thank god you made it here safely, I thought you weren't going to show up on time!!" Minjoo playfully scolded me. God I loved it when she yelled at me. It makes me feel important ㅋㅋㅋ.
" I wouldn't miss your birthday for the world Joo! I have nothing else to spend my time thinking about so you're basically all that's on my mind" I did not just say that. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. " I mean, I had a reminder on my phone so there was no way I could've forgotten." I quickly responded, obviously red from my little burst of pent up feelings. I seriously need to work on thinking before I speak.
She smiled back at me and quickly noticed the bag with her pocky sticks. " I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT YOU FORGOT ABOUT MY PRESENT!! Thank you. I haven't had the green tea ones in ages!!" She eagerly replied. I'm pretty sure that she was trying to change the topic and avoid all the awkwardness that I'd released. I'm so glad she had noticed her present. I was legit about to run out of the room and leave so that she could forget about my little accidental confession.ㅋㅋㅋ

Minjoo's POV ~

Did he seriously just say that..???
Thousands of emotions and thoughts  are literally popping up in my head like pimples. Does he.
Like me....?
No.
I doubt it. I mean who would want this piece of trash.  I'm no where near as funny or as weird as my dad (taehyung) and I don't want to say something about the way I feel and end up ruining our friendship. Jaeil means the world to me and he's always there for me when I need him to be. Better yet. He's more like a brother..
OH SHIT NO. NOT A BROTHER- THAT WOULD BE INCEST AND INCEST IS GROSSS
I think he had my present behind his back. I should probably mention it so that the atmosphere isn't too awkwardd. " IS THAT MY PRESENT?? THANK YOU I THOUGHT YOU HAD FORGOTTEN SINCE YOU WERE RUNNING LATE THIS MORNING.."
Hopefully that will lighten up the mood and not make the situation more awkward than it already is ㅋㅋㅋ.
He nodded shyly and cutely gave me my pocky. God he's so adorable. I just hope he never suspects my feelings for him... We should probably be leaving now-

Jaeil's POV-
" I think we should start walking to school now" I suggested to Minjoo. At this rate, if we kept fooling around, we would be wayy worse than tardy for class. She agreed and we both started walking to our high school.
15 Minutes later-
We arrived at school and made our ways to our first classes of the day.
" Im sorry for arriving late to your house and almost forgetting about your present. I promise as soon as school ends , I'll find a way to make it up to you." I sincerely apologized to her. I mainly just felt embarrassed so apologizing was the only way for me to make my self feel less awkward.
" Don't apologize for something that wasn't your fault. You have no control over sasaengs and their behavior." She genuinely replied. " I'll meet you outside the gyms that way we can walk home together." Minjoo is the best. I'm seriously one of the luckiest guys on earth to be best friends with her..

I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter of "Imperfectly Perfect." I'm going to start updating about every other day or two, just depending on my schedule.// I can't believe I wrote more than 1,000 words on just the first chapter! Hopefully all the chapters will be relatively equal on the amount of content so I will try my best to do so. I promise I won't go a week without updating so please stay tuned XD...  Oh and the little picture up there is only partially correct. Ignore the little kissing section and just enjoy how cute those kids are lol.
