Dear Diary
Curious as to what the plan is? In five simple steps I will leave Charlotte heartbroken and Gid confused as the Titanic's captain.
Step One. Catch his eye
Step Two. Separate him from Charlotte
Step Three. Go In for kill
Step Four. Confess my undying love
Step Five. Break it off
Simple enough, right? It should take a few weeks of preparation, but once I complete it I will take Charlotte's ego down a few well deserved notches. I'm not evil, I'm like Robin Hood; I'm doing something bad for good reasons- I'm sure any girl that Charlotte has bullied will be thankful. But what if I'm wrong? Am I a bad person? Let me tell you why I hate this girl so much, maybe then you'll understand.
It all began in first grade when Charlotte, the girl who'd already had five "boyfriends" decided Amanda Young was too much of a competition, so she forced her to eat ten ants before a teacher intervened. This bullying continued on until in sixth grade, while Charlotte was carelessly insulting Mandy, I happened to walk into the girl’s bathroom. Both of their heads shot up at me, Charlottes eyes burning with anger and Mandy's with brimming with tears. I saw in Mandy's eyes how hurt she was, and without thinking, punched Charlotte, knocking her to the ground where she landed with a crack. Charlotte began screaming almost immediately, her blonde hair sticking to her face. It turns out she fractured her tailbone, so she had to sit on a special pad for a few months, humiliating her to no end. Ever since then we have hated each other.
Wait, did you hear that? It sounded like someone was in my room... oh no.
My life is over. I will never live this down; Evan read my diary. He stole it and now he knows the whole plan. Can this day get any worse? Oh wait, it just did! It turns out Evan is mad that I’m playing his friend, so now he's given me ten days to finish my plan before he tells Gid... kill me now! There's only one good thing going for my plan right now, and that is that Gideon's coming over later, which means I can get a head start. I hope Evan doesn't ruin everything, he usually does.
Here's what's going to happen. I'm going to put on the shortest pajama pants I own, my regular tank top that I sleep in (let's not go overboard, now) and try to get the spot on the couch next to Gideon while they play their zombie video games. I know, I know, zombies- yuck. But what can I say? Call me a martyr; I'm doing this for the better of humanity. Okay, here goes nothing, I'll check in later and tell you how it goes, wish me luck!
Dear Diary
It's one in the morning right now, and I think that I'm going to pass out from exhaustion! I think you'll be proud of me, though. We made a lot of progress tonight.
I walked down the stairs into the den where the boys were excitedly yelling at each other to shoot. I stifled a giggle and they both turned around, I'm pretty sure Gideon’s eyes lingered on me longer than my brothers did.
"Gid! Eyes on the screen, we're being attacked by a couple dozen zombies here! And Summer," He turned around, his eyes focused on mine, "Put on some pants." I'm sure my eyes were sticking so far outside my head that I looked like a cartoon person with bubble eyes. Evan giggled like a little girl and Gideon turned bright red. Awkwardly I shifted from foot to foot until deciding to hide in my room and wait for the movie to come on before I made my move.
While I waited in my room I texted Jade and Mandy and filled them in on my new deadline and embarrassing moment. Jade suggested I put on sweat pants and lay low for the night, whereas Mandy suggested that I put on makeup and go full force. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to do, after all, Evan had the last word in it all, it was basically blackmail. Eventually, I put on sweatpants, pulled a brush through my wavey hair, and meandered towards the den where the boys would be watching a horror movie.
Lazily I plopped down next to Evan, tucking my feet under his legs to keep them warm. I watched in horror as a half-naked girl was chopped in half, wincing at the guts. Glancing away from the gore-splattered scene I gasped as I noticed that Evan wasn't Evan, but in fact Gideon. He looked at me, his eyes crinkling in the corners as I pulled my feet out from under his thighs and backed up to the other side of the couch.
"So... where's Evan?" I asked, refusing to let an awkward silence fall over the room. Gideon looked behind me, into the doorway of the kitchen, paused, and said,
"I think he was getting popcorn, but I haven’t seen him for a while. I think he got scared." We both smiled at his joke, his white teeth flashing with the light from the TV. I turned my attention back to the TV, allowing myself to be engrossed with the blood splatter and screams. I think that's when I fell asleep, but when I woke up my head was resting on Gideon’s shoulder, his body slowly rising and falling with the even tempo of his breathing. I stiffened as I noticed his arm draped over my shoulder, his fingers entangled in the tips of my brown hair. Awkwardly I pulled myself from his grasp, and wandered upstairs. The weird thing is, my heart won't stop thumping in my chest. I know what you're thinking, and I'm not falling for him, it's just I have never had a boyfriend, or anything of the sort! Sure, I've kissed, but I've never made that... connection.
So now it's late, and I'm in my room, awake with the thoughts of the night. God, why won't my heart stop freaking out? Nothing happened, okay? So, I'm going to bed. Talk to you tomorrow!
