Dear Diary

I'm still blushing after my "encounter" with Gideon last night, I hope he wont be awkward at breakfast... or tell Evan! I can't shake the feeling that somehow Evan will be the undoing of my plan- which is very alarming.

It reminds me of when we went to a beach in California as young kids; I was playing in the sand and he was finding hermit crabs. After a while I got too warm and went for a swim, and just kept swimming further and further out into the ocean, the water pulled me further and further, and I loved every moment of it. Suddenly, I heard Evan scream that I was too far out and for someone to help me, I remeber thinking it was weird  because I wasn't that far out. I turned to look at the beach, and realised just how far out I was. Soon we were all screaming and I felt like the deep water had grabbed my ankles and was dragging me into the warm water. Fortunatly my dad was there and scooped me out of the water, taking me back to a hysteric Evan on the beach.

This morning I woke up to the sound of my mom yelling at us to come on down, its time for breakfast! I threw the blankets off my bed, leaving them in a crumpled mess on the floor. I stumbled to my bathroom where I washed my face, brushed my teeth and brushed my hair, before applying an unnoticeable amount of makeup (Gideon slept over) and checked my appearance. My brown eyes sagged with sleep and my hair was slightly more curly on one side. Honestly, I didn't look that great, but the beckoning smell of breakfast called to me, luring me out of my room.

Gideon looked up at me as I walked in, his train of thought faltering as he spoke to my brother. Evan rolled his eyes and shoved a few pieces of bacon into his already over flowing mouth. Boys! Without much grace I padded  into the kitchen, loading pancakes and bacon onto my plate and soaking them both in syrup. Evan made a snide comment on how fat I was getting, to which I ate a celebratory piece of bacon, extra syrup.

Let me tell you, it was incredibly uncomfortable being around Gideon. I can be so awkward sometimes, it's not even funny. I'm the girl who will spit her chocolate milk all over the cafateria table, or sneeze-fart infront of her crush- trust me, I've done it.

So I was sneaking into the den hoping to get my computer without distracting the boys from the TV or my parents from their work. Knowing my luck, I ended up smaking my computer on the desk as I unplugged it from the wall. The noise made our sleeping pug, Piggles, jump out from under the desk and knock my feet out from under me. In a tangled moment of terror my arms swung in the air in circular, flapping movements. The computer flew into the air and I watched in horror as it knocked Gid in the back of his head, and then as he fell into Evan who proceeded to stumble into the TV, shutting off the TV's power.

The entire room went silent as they assesed the situation, slowly realising who was the catalys and what exactly had happened. My dad turned to me, his face turning five shades of red before settling on purple.

"Erm, Daddy?" I asked, putting on my baby face and looking like an angel. Needless to say, much screaming occured and by the time I could leave, my eardrums were rattling in my head. As it turns out, the screen of the laptop cracked, and I have to find a way to pay for it. Hmmmmmm

Anyway, the rest of the day passed rather uneventfully, I found it hard to act flirtatious around a guy I've known most of my life, that is, until Charlotte showed up. We were hanging out on the baseball field, I was lying on my stomach trying to find a rare four leaf clover.

"Some people never grow up, do they?" I flinched as a voice carried itself across the field into my ears, piercing them like nails on a chalkboard. I plastered on a smile and turned around to face her, searching my mind for a comeback, or even just an insult. She leaned possesivly against Gid, her red nails trailing up and down his chest. I grimmaced as my mind came up blank, so I gave her a dirty look and turned around.

"Wow. Look at her, it's almost sad how pathetic she is." I clenched my hands into fists until my knuckles turned white and shook.

"No!" I commanded myself, "Hit her where it hurts most." I exhaled and released the tension from my fists, grinned confidently, and turned back around.

"Actually, Charlotte, the only pathetic one here is you, I mean, look how you're just draping yourself on Gid here!" She flushed, her eyes flashing with anger, but took a step away from Gideon and towards me. Gideon cleared his throat, his eyes darting back and forth between the two of us. Charlotte continued walking towards me, her steps jerking her body back and forth, the wind sent her hair flying towards me like Medusa's snakes.

"Ladies... please..." He offered a hand between the two of us, but it was quickly swiped away.

"What did you say?" She hissed angrily her hands shaking, probably mimicking mine. That's when I lost it, and suddenly we were both on the ground fighting, tugging hair, ripping clothes and screaming. Honestly, it felt good to finally get back at the girl, and I could tell she'd been wanting to do this for a long time, too. Evan hurtled himself towards us, yelling for Gideon to help him separate us. Someone grabbed my arms a yanked backwards, causing me to rip the sleeve off of her Gucci sweater. Right before we were pulled apart she whispered,

"Game on." I flashed her a bloody smile, then promptly passed out.
