Phil's POV

It was my first day today. I was going to a new school because my dad transferred jobs. I kind of miss my old school but I'm sure I'll have fun at the new school. Maybe I'll make a few good friends and possibly a boyfriend? Don't get too excited, Phil.

I eat breakfast and make sure I have everything I need for today. I don't need to be embarrassed on the first day.

I walk into reception. I get checked in and brought to my form room. Everyone stares at me like I'm an alien. I sit at the back since there's a table with no one on it. I see someone sit next to me. Shit, is this where they sit? Are they going to yell at me? I look up carefully. I see a boy with brown hair and green eyes. I smile at him. He looks friendly.

"Hey, what's your name?" The guy says softly. I smile at him.

"My name's Phil, as you probably know, I'm new here, what's your name?" I say slightly awkwardly.

"I'm PJ, do you wanna hang out with us? I'd hate for you to be alone," PJ said kindly. I nod and we walk to the table his friends are on. Everyone looks at me. I feel slightly awkward. They probably hate me.

"Hi, I'm Emma, nice to meet you," a girl spoke up. PJ smiles at her thankfully.

"Hi, I'm Phil, I can go if you want-" I say quickly, already walking away.

"No, you can hang out with us. You're not Dan so we'll take you," a guy says, I turn around and they smile at me.

"Who's Dan?" I ask nervously. PJ offers me a chair and I sit down.

"An asshole. Only advice I have for you is don't go near him. He has a fringe like yours and brown eyes," Emma says. I nod, slightly confused.

"We'll explain more later, it doesn't really matter at the moment. I'm Felix. You've obviously met Emma and PJ. The ginger is Luke, the guy with red hair is Mark and the guy with green hair is Jack," Felix explains. I smile at all of them.

It's lunch now. Turns out I have art with PJ, maths with Emma and Felix and English with Mark, Jack and Luke. I also saw 'Dan' in English. Emma and Felix kept glaring at him. What happened? I need to ask them.

"So why do you guys hate Dan so much? He doesn't seem that bad," I say awkwardly. Everyone on the table looks at me like I've gone insane.

"If you weren't new I'd punch you in the face," Emma joked. I look at her weirdly.

"Is anyone gonna explain it to him?" Jack said awkwardly. I focus my eye contact on them.

"Basically we used to have a friend who came here and Dan pretended to be in love with them until they had sex. Dan told everyone and publicly broke their heart in front of the entire year," Mark explained. I looked at him in shock.

"You guys must love me, you can't get me out of your heads," I hear someone say behind me. I look at them. It's Dan. He sits next to Jack and smirks at me. Jack awkwardly moves his chair away from him.

"Fuck off Dan, we hate you," Felix says, causing people to pay attention to us. Jack gets up and moves next to me and Mark.

"Aw you used to love me, why don't we quit the fighting and move on?" Dan says in a sarcastic voice.

"Never, douchebag," Mark says. I awkwardly keep my eyes fixated on the floor.

"Who's your new friend? Is he here to replace me or Chris?" Dan said. I look up at him.

"He's not replacing anyone and if you say his name I will personally fling you into the sun," PJ said really aggressively. Luke looked scared.

"Oh boohoo, you guys are no fun anymore. Later losers oh and new guy, hit me up," he says winking at me. Jack looked like he was about to yell something but stopped himself.

"I understand why you hate him now, sorry," I say quietly. Jack smiles at me sympathetically.

"It's okay, we don't care," Felix says. Suddenly, a girl comes to our table. I recognise her from art, her name's Marzia.

"Hey guys, I saw Dan storming out, what did I miss?" She says, sitting down where Dan was sitting a few minutes ago. Felix smiles at her.

"Not much, just the usual. This is Phil by the way. Phil, this is Marzia," PJ introduces us. We exchange smiles. I'm glad I'm friends with these people.
