Lover's Loss

Chapter 2

A couple months past, and I was being forgotten about since Lindsey started dating that Joel guy. I was sitting at a table by myself at lunch everyday since the day her and Joel started dating. I wish I was brave enough to talk too the both of them, but like everyone else says, I'm too much of a chicken. 

As I am sitting there, by myself, and minding my own bussiness, this really hot guy came over to me and asked, "You mind if I sit down?" 

"No not at all." I reply looking at him in a dreamy way. 

"Why are you sitting alone?" he asks me before flipping his long blonde hair out of his eyes so he could look me in the eyes while talking to me. 

"Well... See my friend, Lindsey, started dating the Joel guy from the football team last month, and she totally forgot about me and is now a cheerleader." I respond to his question. He wraps his arms around me, as if he were trying to comfort me. "Well, someone like that doesn't deserve a friend like you." He says to me while playing with my hair. I giggle a little. He looks me in the eyes and says, "Well, I'll see you around?" 

"Yeah." I say while smiling at him. He gets up and walke away. 

The next day at lunch, as I was going to go sit at the table that I have been sitting at for the last month or so by myself. I see that guy sitting there agin! I go over to him and say, "Hey!" 

"Hey!" He says looking at me. "I never did introduce myself." He said as I sit down across from him. 

"I'm Travis." he says holding out his hand. 

"I'm Kaitlyn." I say shaking his hand. I let go of his hand and open my milk. I look up and catch him staring at me. "What?" I ask and giggle a little. 

"You look very nice today." He says to me with a smile.

"Why... Thank you?" I say back in a questioning way.

"Can I ask you something?" He looks at me.

"Yeah, anything." I say while taking a bite of my cookie. 

"Would you like to go to the movies with me?" He asks.

"When?" I look at him.

"Next Friday night?" He asks looking at me in a very awkward way. 

" I'd love too!" I say with a smile

"Great! Then it's a date!" He says with a smile. 

There was an awkward silence between the two of us for a minute or so. I look at him "Well, I better get going to my next class." I say in a very shy way. I give him a kiss on the cheek and slowly walk away. "See you after school, Travis!" I smile at him and hurry away.
