Shelbys pov

I'm laying on my back on my bed just thinking then I remember something

I'm turning 16 today I'm so excited my best friend max is gonna be there I've had a crush on him for a while Im gonna tell him today I walk downstairs its decorated in black and blue streamers there's a cake it's perfect  almost perfect people start arriving almost every one is here except Max we go to light the candles on the cake max still isn't here everyone sing happy birthday I can't even put on a smile after the party my cousin Ross is here and he notices a tear go down my face before I do then he comes over and says "Shelby are you ok you haven't smiled since I've been here"  after he said that I broke down I couldn't hold it in " Ross max wasn't here he promised me he would be here " I say in between sobs " Shelby maybe a family issue can up calm down "  he says calm "Ross how am I supposed to be calm he's my first and only friend besides you " I say crying and enraged ( this is before she met Adam Barney red etc) " why don't you txt him " Ross says hopful " your right " I say hopeful I go upstairs and txt max

S- hey where were you

M- none of your business

S- max are you ok your acting weird

M- Shelby I'm fine leave me alone

After he said that I ran to my room locked my door went in my bathroom grabbed a blade and slit my wrist 6 times each one stands for a year I was friends with max after that I rolled down my sleeves I sat in my bathroom and cried for atleast and hour then I her a knock on my bedroom door then I here Ross say "Shelby open up now"
