California Skies

Chapter One

"Bing, it's a new day!" Breezy announces, opening the blinds of their room to shed light on her sleepy partner.
"Ug, five more minutes, Bree. Please?"
"Nooo. It's time to wake up, Bing," she persists, jumping on the bed.
"Okay," Robin groans, reluctantly getting up.
Bree runs into the kitchen to show Robin what she made for breakfast. Two eggs and three pieces of sausage, making a smile on the plate.
"Service with a smile!" Breezy exclaims.
Robin giggles and sneaks a peak at the clock on the stove to see: 7:45.
"Bree what in gods name are we doing up so early today?" He questions, wiping sleep crusties out of his eyes.
She whips out two Disney Land tickets with a smile on her face. At the sight of this, Robin woke up.
"Another day in paradise I see," he says, retrieving two forks out of the silverware drawer.
"You know it," Breezy replies, taking the offered fork from Robin and sitting with him at their breakfast nook.

After riding almost every ride in the park, Robin and Breezy saved the best for last: The Tower Of Terror.
While in line, Robin is busy catching Pokemon.
"What's the deal with that app? What's the hype? I don't get it." Breezy shrugs.
Robin looks up from his phone, and he says, voice flooded with disgust: "An Onix."
Breezy giggles and her phone starts to ring.
"Hello?" She answers, plugging her open ear with one finger to hear the caller. All of the sudden, she froze, her face devoid of emotion.
"Th-Thank you," she manages to say and hangs up the phone, staring at nothing, her mind somewhere else.
Robin locks his phone and puts it in his pocket, distracted by Breezy's sudden discomfort.
"Who was that? Is everything okay, Bree?" he asks, placing his hand on the small of her back, concern covering his face.
Breezy looks Robin in the eye, on the verge of tears.
"The surgery is officially scheduled, Bing," she chokes.
