I followed the exquisitely dressed girls down a long, bright hallway to a black door that seemed to drain the air around it of any light. The first girl didn't even hesitate to open said door and we all passed from the bright corridor in to a dimly lit room.
As my eyes adjust to the darkness,I noticed a man with bright silver hair sitting in the corner. While his hair was alarming,it was his gold eyed gaze that caught my own eyes. He didn't seem to be looking at anyone of us girls or at anything in particular either.
It wasn't long before he spoke. "Look what the cat pulled in," he mused, finally studying each of us girls with empty eyes. "Yes,I think you'll all do nicely."
His eyes landed on me, cold and unforgiving. It took me less than a second to look to the ground to avoid his cold gaze.
He chuckled at my reaction and nodded to the girl on the other end of the line. Without a word, she turned us out of the room through a different door, this one impossibly blacker than the first. Upon passing through the threshold, I was greeted by a black light that shed its self over a room filled with people dressed more exquisitely than I.
I finally dared to talk to one of the girls standing near me, "Excuse me?" I whispered in a small voice.
This caught the attention of the red-haired girl on my right. I immediately noticed that she wore a small, tight dress at emphasized her long pale legs, full breasts, and abundant freckles. But I paused when I noticed that her eyes were a deep purple instead of the green that her hair implied that they'd be.
"Yes?" She whispered in return.
"Do you know why we are here?" I answered back quickly.
Her head nodded slightly, "We are here to be sold."
My eyes grew wide, "That's why we are here? How do you know? We could be at a fashion show..." I trailed off, pleading with my eyes that she was wrong.
This time she shook her head, "I know for a fact. This is my third and last chance to be sold. If you don't get sold to someone you get beat and you only have three chances. After that they kill you." Her eyes began to tear up and face became one of pure despair. "I don't want to die." She whispered and I immediately wrapped her in hug.
"No, no." I whispered,"You won't die, you're so pretty, someone will buy you for sure." I tried to sound confident as I whispered is her ear.
She pulled back to look at me, "But I don't want to be someone else's slave either." The tears continued to stream down her face. "I don't know which would be better, to end the pain or to hope I get sold to someone who won't hurt me."
"All we can do is hope for the best," I whispered to her, "Your life will be better when we set out of here, I promise." It was an empty promise and she and I knew it, but I could tell that she wanted to believe me.

Short StoryI turned around so my back was exposed to him and I was left to face the wall, clinging to the blood manacles and chains. His voice came out deed and rough as he said,"One,"and the whip met my back and I found the energy to scream.
