You were miserable. You couldn't stop missing him. His sparkling brown eyes, his big, goofy smile, his contagious laugh, his caring personality, his warmth, his selflessness, his stubble that kinda tickled when you kissed him, his dark brown hair that you loved running your fingers through, the smell of his cologne, him.
You and Liam were together for almost two years and you loved each other very much...or so you thought. You'd been broken up for a little over two months now and you're barely getting through it--no, not even that. You were not getting through it. Your best friend, Y/BFF/N, did everything she could to help, and normally she could, but this was bigger than both of you.
*****
It all started when you and Y/BFF/N were out for lunch and, literally, ran into Louis, who was on his way into the restaraunt.
"Oops! I'm sorry, love."
"No, I'm sorry. I should watch where I'm-" you looked up and immediately recognized the member of your favorite band. "Lou-"
"Shhh. It's me, but could you please keep it quiet, love? We're trying to keep a low profile, which is hard as it is."
"Oh. Yeah, sure."
"What's your name?"
"I'm Y/N. This is my best friend, Y/BFF/N."
"Nice to meet you," You two shook his hand and the other four gradually filed in behind him. "Boys, this is Y/N and her best friend, Y/BFF/N." They greeted you and that's when you saw him. Liam smiled at you as you passed by and he said, "Hopefully, I'll see you soon."
"You, too, Liam." You were always a Liam girl.
*****
You remembered it like it was yesterday, but you tried not to because that made it even harder. Especially since it technically was yesterday... Yesterday would have been your second anniversary since you met.
Liam's schedule began filling up; he got busier and busier with the tour, recording, Meet-and-Greets, projects, etc... You two missed each other because you hardly saw each other. The only form of seeing each other was Skype. You two would say, "I love you," and "I miss you," etcetera. Liam would come up with something really cute about how just about anything in his day reminded of you somehow and you adored it. In the rare case that he was home, though, you two would spend relaxed weekends (or some weekdays) in each others' arms, talking, laughing, watching movies, even just tranquilly enjoying each others' company.
Oh, how you missed his strong, warm embrace and sweet, simple moments with him. That thought made you cry harder. All that you had left of him was his big, old black sweater he had left that smelled like him. You slept with it almost every night.
"Y/N! I'm back! I-" Y/BFF/N ran to your side and gave you a tight hug. "Oh, hun. Y/N. I promise, you'll be okay."
"It doesn't feel like I will."
"I know."
The long distance definitely strained the relationship, but what really did it was all the rumours. The biggest one that had flared up was that Liam had been cheating on you. You didn't believe them for one second; you knew Liam was sweet and the most trustworthy person you would meet. He eventually ended it because, not only could he not see you hardly ever, but he also didn't want that much added pressure forced on you with the increasing amount of rumours as he was away.
