Black and White

I'm moving in with Atticus. We already decided to move in with each other a while ago, but he insisted that he does all the moving because he doesn't want me getting hurt. That's cute and all, but I'm perfectly capable of moving heavy things. Or so I thought. I was already breathing hard just moving the box full of clothes. Meanwhile, he's over here carrying my big ass nightstand effortlessly. While he was carrying all the heavy stuff, I was dismantling my bed since that was the only thing that needed to be taken apart. I didn't have a lot of stuff in my apartment as I have a very limited amount of money, unlike Jenna, so moving was very quick and easy. We actually got done in about 3 hours.

I hadn't seen our new apartment yet, and Atticus was so excited to show me, so in between moving he took me to see it. He said it was closer to Genevieve and work, and it's got a nice view of the stream and the greenery from the back balcony. Upon arrival, I noticed that the apartment was made of red brick, covered in moss and ivy, and it looked small and cozy. He gave me a tour of the inside and I honestly felt like this is where I should've been my whole life. The wood was a rich mahogany, and the walls were all brick. The windows were still wet from morning dew. They were just the right size to let the light shine through from the bright, white, clouds. There were so many places to put all my plants and succulents.

He took me out to the balcony, and I almost started crying. We had a little patch of foliage in the back. They had all types of trees like quaking aspen and evergreens and a lot of others in the mix.

“It reminds me of when I grew up in Freiberg,” Atticus spoke up. “I can't wait to take a walk through here with you.” Seven months into this relationship and I still get butterflies when he says stuff like that.

Anyway, back to the moving. After he finished unloading the last box into our new home, I decided to treat him to lunch for doing 99% of the work. I took him to Chili's because he was in the Chili's mood today. That and we couldn't think of anything else. He ended up getting those 4 small burgers that actually looked really good. I ordered them too and gave him two of mine because he clearly worked up an appetite and I was making dinner later anyway. After he wolfed down all six burgers and I slowly finished my last two a lot slower than he did, I paid our bill and I left pretty satisfied.

“You good for now big guy?”

“How long until dinner?” He's still hungry, oh my God.

“I don't know, like, six maybe?” He gave me a face like that was too much time.

“Or I can order pizza and we go from there.”

“Don't worry I'll leave you some.”

“What are you talking about, I'm getting my own box, you were gonna leave me a slice left of pizza, I ain't crazy.” He wasn't ready for that answer, but he laughed anyway.

Back at our new home, we were indulging in the pizza on the balcony, and enjoying the aroma of the pine trees that sat behind us. I wanna say we were watching the stars, but the sky was cloudy as usual. Atticus was devouring his meat lovers pizza, and I was taking small bites of my ham and pineapples pizza. He says that pineapple on pizza is an abomination, but it doesn't taste like one, so that's on him.

We're so lucky both of our bosses were nice enough to give us the day off so we could move in today. Unfortunately, Atticus’ boss told him he had to be at work for the next three weeks, so I can't spend those nights with Atticus. My boss gave me the whole weekend off, though. He said he wanted us to be happy. How does he get a week off, and he works the next three days 8 to 4? That's a little unfair since he moved every single thing into our home except for my plants.
