I walked into the public library and walked over to the librarian. I asked her if the new James Patterson book was in yet. She nodded, before directing me to the area where they were located.
I grabbed the book that I've been wanting to read for a really long time now, and walked over to a comfortable cushioned chair to sit down. I instantly started reading, absorbing the words on the paper. I loved reading. I find that when I read that I'm me, even if it's only temporary.
I was so engrossed in the book that I hardly noticed when a figure appeared in front of me. I sheepishly looked up to find a rather tall man with tattoos and long brown hair pushed back off of his head. I didn't meet his eyes though, I focased on the floor as he spoke to me.
"Mind if I sit?"
My gaze finally met his eyes before darting back down to the floor again. They were a piercing green, and they were trained on my face.
"I erm.. I don't.." I stuttered. "I don't mind."
I looked up to see him smirking a bit, "Thanks, love."
He took a seat in the cushioned chair on the other side of me. I gulped as I snuck a peak at his face. He was beautiful.
Suddenly his eyes looked up and I quickly darted my eyes away from his direction. He didn't say anything, but he was smirking. I had been caught. Damnit.
"What's your name love?" He asked me, catching me off guard.
"My-my name?" I stupidly asked.
He chuckled a bit before replying, "Yes."
"What's yours?"
"Well I asked you first." He stated and I mentally scolded myself for being so damn weird. A normal person would have just told him their name. "But I'm Harry. Harry Styles."
"Oh, well uhm hi Harry Styles. I'm Rosemary Marie Higgs." I told him. "But you can call me Rose."
"Ah." He replied before adding, "You're cute, Rose."
I didn't know what to say so I focused on the floor as my cheeks flushed an undoubted shade of crimson. "Thanks." I replied, quickly adding "So why are you here?" to change the subject.
"I'm reading." He asked and I mentally scolded myself. Of course he's here to read, it's a damned library Rose.
"Oh, of course." I told him feeling very stupid. Before I could silence myself words started pooring out of my mouth at a fast pace. "I mean obviously you are here reading, I mean it's a library. I swear that I have more common sense than that it's just I didn't know what to say and you're a cute boy with tattoos and I am terribly horrible at things like this and-"
"Rose," He chuckled as he placed a hand over-top of mine. "It's okay, calm down."
I looked down at the floor once again before gathering my things and standing up to leave. I feel like such a weird idiot. Why do I have to be so unusual all of the time?
"Hey, where are you going?" Harry asked me as I began to walk away. I stopped in my tracks, turning around to see him.
"Oh uhm, home." I replied, "I need to get home."
"Wait." He stood to his feet. "I wanted to know if I could have your cell phone number."
"Oh. Uhm, yeah sure."
He handed me his phone to put my number in and I decided to hand him my phone to put his in. Once we had exchanged numbers Harry had said goodbye to me and gave me a small smile and wave before returning to his seat.
