-Am I pretty?
It is a question that every girl will face.
It doesn't matter what religion or what race.
We are all the same when it comes to be called the name "pretty."
-Am, I, pretty?
Today in our society
If we don't have the right body,
We are considered, ugly.
We are told
That if you cannot hold confidence for yourself, you are normal
-Am I worthless?
Everyday, girls try to run away, from the very question that makes us stay in looking our bathroom mirrors wondering how much we are worth.
-Am I pretty?
A question that really makes us stop to think.
Our world has forced the image that if you're not tall or thin,
Then, you are not "pretty".
It is time for a change, to rearrange, the way we think.
- "Will I ever find love?"
Asks the little girl, playing with her mommy's hair, giving it a twirl.
"Of course" says her mother,
Who doesn't really bother, showing, love.
-What is love?
Love is kindness.
Love?
Is helping your neighbor, without wanting a favor in return.
Love is trying, to keep your friends from dying.
Love? Love is caring about other people who aren't you.
So, once again, I ask.
-Am I pretty?
The answer? No, I am beautiful.
I have people who love me for who I am.
NOT what society calls me.
Not "obese", not " fat", or "non-existent" because I am so thin.
In an instant my confidence could shatter, but does it matter?
-Am I pretty?
No, I am me.
That, is what I am.
So if someone says
"You're not pretty."
Ask them "Why?"
Because I don't look like I'm from a magazine?
Because there are parts of my body still unseen?
-You should be happy that you are not just called, "pretty".
You? You're beautiful.
You? Are kind.
You? Are loved.
You...? You are worth it.
If you ever ask yourself,
"Am I pretty?"
Say "No. I. Am. Me."
"That is what I am"
