Chapter 3 Trip to LA

Hyacinth POV

"Days had passed like a blink of an eye."
All my things already packed in my suite case. I only bring one luggage just enough for 2days stayed in L.A.
"This is my first time to fly in L.A."

Our school already booked a plane ticket a month a go before we fly to L.A.
"I'm so excited at the same time feeling nervous."

I secure my passport and plane ticket on my bag. Mom and Dahl escorted me to the airport.
When we arrived i saw all my schoolmates sitting on the chairs in the departure area. I guess, I'm the last one they are expecting.
I said goodbye to mom and dhal.
"Mom I think I need to get inside they're waiting for me."
I will miss you mom and you too Dahl I will miss you. I hug both of them and they hug me back.

We will miss you too sis, Dahl said.
Take care of yourself and don't talk to strangers. Mom said.

Okay mom, I will keep that in mind.
Take care of mom Dahl, i'll be back after 2days.

I left them and go to the departure area where my schoolmates are sitting.
"After a couple of hours. We all board on plane".
I put my luggage above my head in the cabin. I'm glad that my seat is at window side.
"I could see the breath taking view of the New York here". When the plane is steady up. I take a nap because we have along hours flight.

After 5 long hours of flight. "We arrive at Los Angeles International Airport."
We waited for the chauffeur to pick up us and drove us to the hotel where we going to stay for two days. I remember the time we left in New York and that time is 10:15am.
I check my watch to see what time is it now. "The time is 3:45pm we can still go out and have a sight seeing places here in L.A.
I will buy some souvenirs and give to my mom and Dahl. I'm sure they'll love it.

The coaster stop in front of The Holiday Inn hotel. I got up on my seat and get my luggage.
I went inside and go to the concierge to and check in
Welcome to Holiday Inn hotel. Greetings of the guards. I just smile and go inside.
Hi! We're from New York participants. Can I know what floor we belong and can I get the key and my room number? I ask the girl in the counter.

Okay ma'am, just a second. "She said".

I scan the place it was really huge, all the furniture and displays are look expensive." I said in my head."

Ma'am the participants in New York will be on 19th floor. Your room number is 1905 and this is your key, bring your card anywhere you go ma'am it's your access to the elevator. If you lose it ma'am you will be charge in return. "She stated."

She gave me the card and i take it.
Okay i understand. Thank you!

I made my way on the elevator. I slide the card to get access to the elevator. I get inside and press number 19.
I didn't wait for the others.
"I'm glad that we don't have to share bedroom."

When the elevator open i got out immediately and search for the my room number.
"Not too long i found it," i place the magnetic card on the door side and when the door open. I take it back and get inside. I put my luggage in the cabinet and arrange my costumes. "After some sorting, i check the bed it was queen size bed cover with white thick blanket and 2 pillows on the heading in front of the bed it was a 40 inches curve flat screen TV hanging on the wall."
The bathroom have a tub and a shower.

After done scanning the room, i pulled up the curtains and i saw the the view of the swimming pool.

I heard a knock on my door.
Who is it? I ask.

It's a room service ma'am.

I open the door and smile.

Sorry to disturb you ma'am but i just need to put this food and water in your fridge. "She said."

Okay, come in. I said to her.

I'm done! If you need anything else ma'am just dial 0 for operator asistant. "She said."

I just nod my head and close the door after she left.
I decided to go out and be with my schoolmates to hang out.
"We go to the shop near the Hotel."
We buy some souvenirs and we decided to have a dinner at the fast food chain. After we done ate our dinner we get back to the Hotel.

"I said good night to my schoolmates and get inside my room and they did the same."

Tomorrow is the big event we are waited for. The School were we going to compete will send their school bus to pick up us.
"As i heard there will be 20 different Schools participated in this Dance competition."
I know our rivals school are prepared for this big event. But i'm confident we can win this.
"I can win this competition."

I get my phone in my pocket and set the time 6:00am to alarm. The bus will be here 7:30 in the morning. I have time to prepare my costumes and myself.

I took a quick shower and blow dry my hair, i brushed my teeth before i go to bed. "I prayed and go to sleep."

Snoooze...snoooze...snoooze...
I woke up by the sound of my phone alarm.
"I yawn and stretch my body". I rub my eyes with my hands. I got up and took a shower.
" I get dress, i already wear my costume inside and i cover it with our School jacket." (See the picture in the media box, that's "hya" costume)
I'm going to wear my shoes later.

I did my make up it was only a light make up i just emphasize my eyes with the help of liquid eyeliner and masskara and I just curled my hair.

"I'm done fixing myself and i'm satisfied with my look."

Exactly 7:30 the bus arrive and we rode on the bus on the way to the L.A University. The school that organize this big event.

After 1 hour the bus arrive at the University. We go direct to the event place which located in the Gynasium of the University.

When we got there, we find our spot and arrange all our props and costumes of others dancers.

"The Gymnasium is fully airconditioned. It was huge."
We saw the other school are at thier spot already. After an hour the Event begin.

"First the Opening Prayer and Announcing the criteria for judging."

"First to perform the Pop Dance." "Second Dance Sport."
"Third Ballet Dance Solo."
"Fourth Folk Dance."

We listen to the MC as they explained everything. In 20 numbers we are number 11. We are in the middle to perform.

It was in the middle of the program. I do some stretching to warm me up. I remove my jacket and wear my shoes.

"I didn't have the chance to watch the other to perform because i'm already at the back stage waiting for my turn."

It was my turn and i go to the center of the stage.
"The lights off and the music starts."
