I couldn't stop the tears flowing as I waved goodbye to Ireland from the plane. I'm an only child, my parents got divorced recently because my mother got caught cheating. I actually crack up every time u think of her pathetic excuses. Anyways, my father and I are moving from dreary Ireland to sunny LA for a fresh start. And God knows I need one of them!
I know I should be estatic but I'm really gonna miss this place.
"You okay Amy?" my father asked snapping me out of my trance.
"I suppose" I said still staring out the window.
"Us Jones's are a strong family, we'll get through this together"
I didn't reply, instead I chose to close my eyes and attempt to get some sleep, something I haven't had much of in the past few days.

I was awoken some time later by my father shaking my knee.
"We're here!" he said.
"Yay" I replied sarcastically, but it seemed to satisfy him.
We grabbed our carry on bags and followed our fellow passengers out of the plane and into the airport.
"Its so busy!" I exclaimed.
"Well, it is the first day of the summer holidays"
That's one of the positive things about moving here, I'd have a whole summer to fit in before I'd have to join school.
I couldn't help but feel intimidated by all the American accents, my Irish one would make it extremely hard to fit in here.
I covered my eyes when the blinding sunlight hit me as we walked out the door.
We got a taxi to the house and I was awestruck when I saw it. It was beautiful!
I dropped my bag at the front door and wasted no time and started exploring.
Downstairs there was a sitting room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, office, utility room and a games room.
I looked out the back and I got giddy as I noticed it had a swimming pool. Thank God my father had money saved in the bank for years or we would have no choice but to live in some ramshackle house with only one tiny bedroom.
I was just about to climb the stairs when my father caught me.
"That's your room" he said pointing to a door on the left.
I ran upstairs and opened it.
I recognised the furniture but I was surprised by the paint, purple was my favourite color!
I squeled with excitement as I noticed I had my very own bathroom and closet.
I didn't bother exploring the rest of the house, I knew that all I would find is my father's room, two guestrooms and a bathroom.
I kicked off my shoes and layed down on my bed. I didn't care what time it was, I was going to sleep and no one was going to stop me.
"I could get used to this" was the last thing I said as I let my eyes close.
