"Stevie hurry up!" I yell as I lean against the cold cement wall staring down at my scuffed up shoes.
"Coming"she yells back. Stevie exits out the front door as carrying her dark brown jacket with patches on the sleeves.
"We're always late, because of you" I giggle.
"It's not like he's ever on time anyways", she says.
"True but of course today is the day where things settle once and for all" I say.
"Yeah" she mutters
I take my keys out of my leather jacket and make my way towards the car. My hands start to tremble as I begin to turn on the car. I pull out of the driveway and head towards what was once "Street Records."
********
I slowly begin to park in front of the abandoned store and hit my head against the car horn.
"Hey dude, you alright?" Stevie asks
"Yeah just nervous" I mutter
"Me too, I can't believe it" Stevie says
I lift my head up and dial Aaron.
"Hello?" he says
"We're waiting on you Cinderella" I say
"Alright, On my way"
"On your way?! You bastard stop getting high and get your ass over here before I kick it" I hang up and stare out the window.
"Stevie.." I say
"Yes?" she replies
"I have a feeling something doesn't feel right"I say
"Now you're feeling that?!"
"Too soon?"
"More like a little late. You went pretty insane the entire time we've done these tasks but now that it's almost over you feel like something wrong?!" she says
"Never mind" I mutter as I close my eyes.
************
A black SUV parks behind us, we exit out the car and meet Aaron face-to-face.
"Today is your task and this task can be a bit tricky" he says
"Why?" Stevie says
"This could potential put you both in jail" he mutters.
"Oh like that's never happened before" I say sarcastically.
"What's the task?" Stevie asks.
"You guys are robbing that old man's liquor store" he says
"Alright, text me the details" I reply. Stevie punches my arm harshly and pulls me to the side.
"What!" I scream
"You don't get it, do you?!"
"It's just a task, what's the issue?" I say
"Not just a task Mia, this could end our good future" Stevie nervously says
"It'll be okay, stop overreacting" I say
"I'm not doing this" Stevie replies.
"Fine" I get out of her grasp and return to the conversation with Aaron.
"Count me in." I say
Stevie walk towards us "Fine. Me too"
"Great, I'll text you the details" Aaron begins to walk away until I pull him back
