"Wake up! Its time for school!" Mom yells from downstairs. I drowsily fall out of bed not realizing how close to the edge I was. Letting out a groan I get up and start getting dressed for the day. Which doesn't take much since I just throw on what I see laying around. I got no one to impress so whats the point. I head downstairs, face buried in my phone I check Facebook. Excluding myself from the rest of the world was kinda my profession. There is a handful of people I'm comfortable with being myself around but that's because they're just like me.

"Have you eaten yet?" My mom asks.

"Nope but don't worry, my friends don't eat their breakfast at school so I'll snag food from them." I respond with a smile.

"Alright, well you ought a head out cause you're gonna miss the bus." Mom says as she brushes her hair getting ready for work.

Grabbing my backpack and my phone charger I head out. Walking slowly down the street with my earbuds In, listening to whatever comes on. My playlist is kind of a mess so at this point I just pray its something I like. I sat at the bus stop for nearly a half hour before I realize it was Wednesday. Which meant late start. Instead of having too be out for the bus at 6:50am I was supposed to be out there at 8:25am. Checking my clock it was 7:34. I had nearly an hour to get to the bus stop. Walking home I noticed that I hadn't seen one car the whole time. I mean I see the ones in the driveways but I would assume some would be headed somewhere since it was a weekday.  I shrug it off and open the door to my house. Quiet. Nearly dead silent.

I turn on the TV in hopes of playing some video games before heading off to school again but my hopes were crushed when A warning popped up on the screen reading...

                                                                                      ALERT!

Stay inside your homes until further notified its safe. The military are doing what they can but we can't be certain that everything will work out. Shows and other programs have been canceled due to this alert and will be until proven safe. This alert will be updated by the hour on the hour. Be sure to check when possible. This was recorded at 9/21/16 at 7:19am.                            If you are in need of further information or have more information on the upcoming events please call... (***)***-***

My heart starts to race but I try to keep my cool and call the number on the screen. I get placed on hold and told that the lines are filled and I have to wait along with 247 other callers. I got too about caller 218 before finally giving up. waiting nearly an hour for nothing wasn't exactly what I had planned for the morning. Well neither was being told that I should stay indoors and that the military are involved with something. That got me panicking and I instantly had her in my mind. I started to freak out and called her. She didn't answer which made my heart race even faster. Headed down the street to her house I notice that most windows in the houses were shining Blue. Everyone seemed to have the alert on. I saw a family on a couch crying and a girl on the couch on the phone who seemed to be freaking out. I wish my mom hadn't left because she could be anywhere now. Unknowingly in the middle of a catastrophe. But knowing her she'll be fine wherever shes at.

The walk to her house was long and exhausting but worth it. I knocked on the door and I was happy to see she answered. I hugged her and it seemed to surprise her since she hesitantly hugged back. She was just as worried as I was about the whole situation. She pulled me inside and we sat on the couch.

"Do you have any idea whats going on?" i asked nearly yelling out of panic.

"Well not really but we got ahold of the number that was on the alert." She said breathing quickly

"What did they say?" I asked sort of relieved
