Chapter Six: The Incident

[Natalya's Point of View]

My brother didn't come home last night, and I stayed up late wondering where he was... Hoping to wake up to his smiling face, but he wasn't home. I'm looking at Alfred, thinking he had something to do with it, or someone in the classroom. It's not like my brother to be absent out of the blue like that, something or someone had to have a part in it. I know it, I look over at Alfred and see that there is something troubling him. I stand up and walk over to Alfred, I grab him by his shirt and drag him out of the classroom. I slam him up against the wall and stare him dead in the eye. 

"Ivan didn't come home last night and I know you did something," I said. Then, his eyes widen as I look at him. My grip loosens on his shirt, and I realize what happened. It wasn't Alfred's fault, it's Ivan's for staying too late at Alfred's house. I start to cry and Alfred looks really worried.

"H-Hold on, Ivan didn't come to your house last night...?" Alfred said. I nod and look down.

"I'm really worried, he's the only family I have left..." 

The bell rings, I walk away from Alfred and I go back into the classroom, grabbing my stuff, I bolt out the door.

[Alfred's Point of View]

I'm in shock, Ivan told me he would make it home safely, but he didn't even make it home at all?! I unlock my door to my house, and I throw my bag down. I turn on the TV, and it's on Channel 7, the news station. 

"...young man kidnapped around 9 PM..." I snap my head to the TV and I crank up the volume.

"Ivan Braginsky, a senior at Alix's high school is missing. Our sources tell us that he was kidnapped late last night, around 9 or 10 PM... He has been missing for over 10 hours, and he was kidnapped right here." The News anchor points to the spot near my house, and my eyes widen. 

"I'm getting reports that our detectives have found traces of the young man, but still not enough."

I turn off the TV lay down.

My boyfriend... Has just been kidnapped...
