(A/N Ok, I am so so so so so so so sorry that I haven't updated in like two months... it's been crazy... But it's finished now! This chapter will go through summer so we can get to the school year and still know where she currently stands. Love you all and I can't believe this already has four votes! xx Drew)

Week One of Summer:

I started at the shop on Monday. It was a good shift I had, because I could go in after lunch and get out before dinner and the sunset. I had absolutely no idea who worked the other shifts (and they were my neighbours as well). It was alright though; I was happy.

My apartment still had a few things that were not put away, and I needed to decorate it. I loved it in there though. And yes, I found the stairs. Outside the flat was a little middle hallway thing and the stairs and the other flat (think Big Bang Theory). It was a good setup.

My fridge and cabinets were slowly filling with things like cereal and peanut butter and Chinese takeout boxes, but at least I did have the M&M tableware set I've been collecting for years.

Dan and his family were absolutely amazing. On the third night there they invited me to dinner and I met all of them. His two sons are adorable, and his wife, Mary, has to be one of the nicest people I've ever met. I've had coffee with her since then.

As I cuddled into my bed on the eve of my first week there, I decided I was doing good. It was like high school, but better- I did my work and stayed out of trouble, had a good representation building up, had a job I was putting my all into, and was alone at the end of everyday with just a cup of tea in my hand...

Week Two of Summer:

The boy with the sea green eyes lived upstairs. I went in the hallway one night because I had heard a noise and I saw him going up the stairs. He saw me too, and we held eye contact for a few seconds before he looked away and continued going on his way.

Weeks Three through Five of Summer:

That one girl, Margret, stopped by the shop a few weeks after I began to adjust to everything. "Hey! You're the new girl here, right? Sorry I haven't been able to formally introduce myself. I'm Margret."

"Delilah, it's a pleasure. Thank you for doing what you did for me before," I told her while trying to give the best impression of myself.

"Well you seem very polite. Is Robby here? I came to give him a coffee," she asked about the boy I shared shifts with. He had been on vacation for the past two weeks and was now back for his summer job. He was also my neighbor, and we'd spoken a few times. He was kind.

"Yeah, he was stocking some shelves over there just a few minutes ago," I answered. She thanked me and went to give him his treat. I didn' t think they were dating, not yet anyway. He had mentioned her enough to where I knew he must have a crush on her.

"How have you been settling in, Delilah?" Dan asked me one night about a month after I got there. I took a moment before answering. Everything has been going great, it really has. Margret and I have been hanging out some (with me trying to get her to go on a date with Robby), and I have learned a lot of the layout of the city. There was a bagel shop that always promised a great morning, a book store with the best reads, some shops that were wonderful for new clothes (something I'd never really splurged on before), and most people were actually very nice.

"It's been great."

There was only that one group that really ruined the perfectness of it all, the one with the troubled teens and green eyes...
