Deadman Wonderland

A massive anomaly ravaged Japan's mainland and destroyed most of Tokyo, sinking three-quarters of the city in the ocean.

Ten years later, the story shifts to Ganta Igarashi, a seemingly ordinary student attending Nagano Prefecture's middle school. As an escapee, a survivor of the great earthquake, Ganta has no memories of the tragedy and has lived a normal life. This all changes when a strange person covered in blood and Crimson armor floats through his classroom windows. Grinning madly, the 'Red Man' massacres Ganta's entire class but instead of killing him, embeds a red Crystal shard in Ganta's chest. Within days of the massacre, Ganta is subjected to a kangaroo court as a suspect and is sentenced to death at Deadman Wonderland, a prison that doubles as a theme park.

Death Note

Light Yagami is a genius high school student who discovers the "Death Note", a notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. After experimenting with the notebook, Light meets the Shinigami Ryuk, the notebook's original owner, who dropped the notebook to the human world out of boredom. Light tells Ryuk of his plan to rule over a new world free from criminals as a God, where only people he deems morally fit to live remain. Light eventually becomes known to the public as Kira, which is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the world "killer".

Parasyte

Parasyte centers on a 17 year old male named Shinichi Izumi, who lives with his mother and father in a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo. One night, a worm like creature called Parasites appear on Earth, taking over the brains of human hosts by entering through their ears or noses. One Parasite attempts to crawl into Shinichi's is wearing headphones, and enters his body by burrowing into his arm instead. It takes over his right hand and is named Migi.
