"Aunt Juna, can I have a hug?"
Jihoon tugged the hem of Seokmin's mother blouse. His puppy eyes when requesting something always her favourite part about him. It was a habit for him to demand a farewell hug from her before leaving house (except sneaked out). Maybe Jihoon wanted a mother's love and care that he never had before.
"Sure dear. Come here."
She crouched to her knees as Jihoon ran to her excitedly and they hugged each other, warm spread across their body and Aunt Juna gave motherly love that he had never felt before. She tapped the boy's back softly and released the hug. She faced him while saying,
"Do well at study. Make Seokmin and I proud of you."
He nodded and showed his sweet smile as giving her a sense of assurance. He waved his hand before head to the car's direction and said goodbye to them.
"Bye Seokmin! Bye aunt!"
Seokmin waved his left hand eagerly while ate his cereals by using another hand at the same time. But he looked at Jihoon's direction, a bit jealousy lumped in his heart for the fact that Jihoon could have everything that he couldn't. Yet, he ignored it because his family's circumstances.
"Have a safe trip dear."
'Your son resembles you so much. Especially his smile. I try my best now to make him know happiness. Just rest in peace, Jiwon.' She glanced at a photo frame that hung at the center of living room. It displayed one of the prettiest girl she had ever seen in her entire life. The milky complexion, angelic smile and a caring personality. Her beauty was ideal, yet she contracted with a fatal disease. Leukemia, dysfunction of typical white blood cell caused by Leukemia cells. It caused the body to weaken faster than normal human as lost the ability to fight infections. She died when Jihoon was 2, but she was grateful to God that she had given a chance to see his own child.
"Mom, are you okay?"
Seokmin asked in concern as his mother shed a few drops of crystal-clear tears. The innocent child went closer to her mother and wrapped his arm around her waist. He dropped his head and put his gaze to the marble floor beneath his feet. He asked again to find his fault for seeking her apology.
"Is it because I always messed up with your garden?"
She just shook her head and crouched to her knees to see his son's face more clearly. Even though a bit displeased by the statement, she cupped his face delicately, just like handled a fragile valuable porcelain vase. Her tears fallen slowly, followed the curvy path of the cheek.
"I just thought of Aunt Jiwon."
Huffed a breath after mentioned her name, she internally wished that Jiwon can be here instead to give Jihoon a perfect mother love. Then, Seokmin looked at her mother again with a pearly smile.
"She was Jihoon's mother right? She is so pretty! But you are prettier than any women in this world."
Juna chuckled at his son's compliment. His son had that ability to soften people heart when rage took over it, like a gentle breeze blew out ignited fire.
"You are really good in flattering, Seokmin."
"Don't worry, she's up there now. She always watch Jihoon and us." He said while pointed the windows, blue sky decorated the outside world beautifully.
"Yeah, You're right." She looked outside while monologue, hoped she will somehow hear it.
'Please take care of us well, Jiwon.'
