Juna walked upstairs to call Jihoon for lunch. As she walked into the vast room, he saw the little guy sat on his own bad with head hanging low. She immediately saw the red marks on his cheek and knew it straightaway. This was unsurprising to her yet it still shocked her that Jihoon was still abused.
"Oh my goodness, what happened to your face, Jihoon?!"
Juna asked him worrily. The tone hid a lump of sadness. she caressed the abused right cheek carefully, didn't want to bring the pain, yet it stung right at the spot. The red shade turned to pinkish as it already healed a little.
"Dad slapped me again this morning, well I'm a bad kid for not making myself a perfection."
Jihoon said while crafted himself a fake smile to somehow calm the elder. He just didn't want Aunt Juna and Seokmin got into trouble if they ever interfered with his punishment. He would do anything to keep them safe, including endured the pain alone.
"We should get this treated or else it will become worse. Stay here while I'm getting the first aid-kit."
Juna walked to the nearest bathroom and searched for the first aid-kit box. She went back quickly after found the thing at second top drawer.
Without further talking, she took disinfectant and gently tapped at the red skin. She felt helpless, Jiwon trusted her to take care of Jihoon, and yet she could let this slipped. She cried harder when she traced the scar that clung on the same cheek.
'Next time, I'm going to protect you with my life.'
Her monologue made her stronger somehow, the strength to protect this frail little boy increased, she won't back down to that person even if it meant death.
"Don't cry aunt Juna. I'm fine already. You see, I'm already content with my life with you and Seokmin by my side."
Jihoon somehow sensed her determination to defend him from her gaze. He didn't want to pull her into the problem if it's possible. He wiped her tears, even though it won't made any changes in his life, just seeing they happiness made that boy felt great.
"I'm fine. I'm fine now."
He repeated the same phrase to calm Juna, to extinguish the flame inside her heart. They hugged and silence surrounded the room, the world stopped revolved at that very minute, he knew that later he couldn't had it anymore.
The motherly love, even though it was not his maternal mother. Yet he craved for it too much and now he tighten the hug so that it remained in his memory. He just bottled the thought inside him.
'This is very nice.'

"Jihoonie~ Jihooniee~~ Jihoonieeee~~~"
Jihoon locked his room, didn't want Seokmin to see his wrecked condition. He rather being alone than hear his friend babbled anymore. He was tired to keep the facade but he need it, at least it will give the short serenity. He rested his back on the door, silently hoped the younger will leave him.
The younger knocked at his door loudly, twisted the door knob, attempted to break this invinsible wall that Jihoon set up. He knew everything about Jihoon, including the routine when he never faced Seokmin for a whole day whenever he had abused by his father.
'It's already night.' He just managed to say it in his head. Truthfully, he wanted to scold the older for not telling him the truth immediately, but he knew Jihoon was suffocated now from her mother's interrogation and he didn't want to make it worse.
"Jihoon, I know it already. Would you just let me go in and cuddle with you so you can forget everything?"
He took a few minutes to keep his facade before lost to the younger's temptation to open the door. Seokmin quickly pulled the older to his bed after locked the door in a haste.
