Paralysed

3 Weeks Later

KAIA'S POV -

I woke up to the sound of my brothers wrestling. God, can't they pipe down in the morning ever? Ugh. So I went to my closet and picked out a loose crop top and leggings with come Nike socks then shuffled downstairs groaning and rubbing my eyes. The boys all ignored the fact that I was there so I just sighed and made myself pancakes. "Two thanks!" Hunter yelled walking past going outside. I didn't make him any, but I cleaned up after myself. Once I ate, Hunter came back inside, "mmmm pancakes." I laugh hardly at him swerving the bar chair in the direction of Hunter. "Oops," I pout and put my index finger on my bottom lip. He got mad, so I left back to my room. 

I decided I'd broadcast. "Hey guys, I'm back!" I smile widely, I had 200 viewers. Brandon, Ashton and Hunter started wrestling downstairs again. "Sorry about that guys! I'm at my friend Hunter's house and him and his brothers are wrestling, so..." I say shrugging my shoulders laughing. Shortly after, Hunter bursted through the doors. "UGH KAIA. WHY DIDN'T YOU MAKE ME PANCAKES THIS MORNING!" He shouts, "because I didn't want too!" I roll my eyes talking to my supporters as his eyes widen. "You're live?" He says before slouching, and walking out.

"Well, that's Hunter as ya'll know." I laugh, "okay I'm going to get off so bye guys! I love you all!" I smile then click to end the broadcast. "HUNTER" I yell, as he runs up the stairs. "Why did you walk out like that?" I roll my eyes, crossing my arms waiting for an answer. "Because I don't want you broadcasting anymore!" I stop in my tracks, "excuse me? Who's the older one here? Not my fault I'm just the secret of the family!" I yell pushing him, but he falls backwards down the stairs. I just gasp, and cover my mouth. Brandon calls an ambulance since Mum's not home, and Ashton stands there crying. I fall to my knees and sob harshly. "What did you do Kaia?!" Brandon looks furious, "Hunter and I were fighting, and I got mad so I-I lightly pushed him but he fell back and down the stairs." I say in between sobs. The sirens got closer so Brandon starts dragging Hunter and I start helping, picking up his feet - "stop Kaia! All you do is hurt people, it's best if you don't help!" I cried even harder walking out to the driveway where the Ambulance parked. A lady in uniform walked towards me, "can you please tell me what happened?" she softly asked. "I had an argument and then I pushed him lightly but he fell back and down the stairs." I sigh, looking down. "His name is Hunter Rowland, he's 15 and I'm his twin sister Kaia" I said, and by that time, Hunter was in the stretcher getting loaded into the back part of the ambulance. The three of us sat in the ambulance, sobbing quietly.

When we got to the hospital, I called Mum. 

Me - Hey Mum.....

M - Yes darling?

Me - You need to come to the hospital, Hunter's hurt.

M - Oh! Yes, yes I'm coming! What happened?

Me - Hunter and I had an argument then I pushed him lightly, but he was just at the top of the stairs so he fell back, down the stairs. And Mum please don't add on! Brandon's already shouted at me, and I already have so much guilt! Please Mum it was an accident!

M - We'll talk when I get to the hospital

Hunter gets rushed into a private room, and no one's allowed in except for doctors. "Mum's gonna be here soon." I say sighing, as both Brandon and Ashton don't say anything. Everyone's mad at me, and I don't blame them... The doctor came out, and all of us stood up. "Mr Rowland has a ruptured spine and one fractured rib. We're not quite sure at this point if he'll be able to walk again, but we'll do our absolute best to try and fix it! He'll wake up in a couple hours, just the medicine will wear off soon" He says, then leaves. We go inside and I sit closest to him. I lay my head on the bed and hold his hand, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm really fucking sorry" I whisper then I cry still got a grip on his hand and my head's still laying on the bed. 

Mum walks in, and signals me to walk out to talk to her. I let go, and then walk outside. "What were you two fighting about" she asks. "He got mad that I was broadcasting, and when I ended I asked him then he got even more mad and he wanted me to quit. I'm just the fucking shadow of the family!! In that case... I pushed him but I didn't mean for him to fall down!" I start crying lots, and my Mum wraps her arms around me. "It was an accident, shh. I'll think of your punishment when Hunter's in a better physical state." She says and we both walk back in the room. I sit back where I was, and continued holding his hand, with my head down sobbing to myself. Soon a hand de-attached from my hand, which made me look up. Hunter woke up, and he's clearly mad. "I'm sorry, okay!" I yell, and Hunter just looks away and talks to Brandon and Ashton which are on the other side of the bed, and Mum's sitting on the right of me. I text my Mum,

To Mum

C'mon, did you see that? Hunter's ignoring me!

From Mum

Give it a rest now, if it continues tomorrow I'll step in.

I walk out of the room, and go for a walk with my earbuds in, music blaring through them, with my hoodie on and tear stained cheeks. I bump into someone, and it's Blake. "Oh hey, Blake..." I say nervously, as I stopped. "Hey Kaia! Oh, what's wrong?" Blake says with his arm around me pulling me in for a hug. "Hunter's in the hospital, and I'm the reason why. He could become paralysed, all because of me."
