The Mark

Ch.4

*Kate's POV*

I was looking out the window wondering what the guys were talking so secretly about. It must be really important by the look on their faces. They look as if their lost and confused.

"Atiana?" I looked around but she was no where to be seen.

"Where are you?" I asked still looking in the cabin but I can't seem to find her anywhere.

"Atiana! Where are you!" I yelled but no response. I'm afraid something happen to her.

I heard some yelling and banging coming from outside. I looked out the window making sure no one would see me.

"Where is the girl!" A strong built man asked while crushing Jacob to the ground.

I looked around for Jason but he's no where that I can see. I quickly moved away from the window looking for a gun or something to hit him with. All I found was a baseball, a bat, and a glove.

I didn't hesitate to grab all three and went outside.

The man that was hurting Jacob. His back was towards the front door. I looked to my left I seen two other men punching Jason. After that I started to see red.

I ran as fast as I could hitting the man that punched Jason. The bat broke as soon as it collided with the man's head. He went down with a loud thud and blood squirting from the back of his head. I turned around to look at other the man that was holding Jason unconscious.

The man had dropped him with a thud and was ready to attack me. I still had the bottom half of the bat in my left hand with a sharp pointy edge.

We started to circle around each other waiting for the first move. I had my right hand on the baseball glove which was in my back pocket. He took a step towards me.

Instantly I threw the glove along with the bat, both hitting him at the same time. The glove hit his face hard enough for his nose to brake. The bat had pierced through his left side of his abdomen and getting him stuck to a tree.

Knowing that he was going down, I turned around to see Jason getting up with wide eyes. All of a sudden I felt a sharp pain on my back then everything went black.

*Jason's POV*

I was talking with my brother about Kate being my mate and how to tell her.

"What if she freaks out and doesn't want to see or talk to me again." I said with concern.

"I doubt she'll do that to you but the freaking out part is normal. You know her being human and what not." My brother said with confidence and patted my back.

"Get ready someone is coming our way." I told Jacob through the link.

We were both on high alert to our surroundings. But couldn't see anyone

"Jason I smell three or four scents heading our way." My brother said through the link.

"Jason watch out!" My brother yelled.

I was tackled by two huge guys. One of them grabbed my arms and pulled them behind me with silver handcuffs. I hissed to the burning sensation.

"You think putting silver handcuffs is going to stop me?" I laughed like if someone told a really funny joke.

"Shut up and tell us where the girl is!" The man in front of me yelled.

"I'll never let you or anyone else take her away!" I yelled

The man in front of me tried punching me but I moved to the right causing him to punch the guy behind me. Then I kicked him in the face, which caused a cracking sound and blood to go everywhere.

I looked up to see my brother being pinned down to the ground. Soon after that Kate came out full with rage and ready for blood. I was about to yell at her to go inside when several fists came at me all at once. Then blackness took over me.

I woke up not knowing how long I was out. When I stood up I seen Kate turning around and got stabbed on her back.

"No! You son of a bitch!" I yelled trying to brake free from the handcuffs but I couldn't. My wrists were raw and could feel the blood running down.

Out of no where, Atiana appears in front me and puts one hand behind her like a shield to protecting Kate and me. Then lifts her other hand making both men levitate. She makes a fist causing both men to cry in pain.

I closed my eyes for just one second and heard the sound of bones crunching. I opened my eyes to see the men's bodies explode like if a ticking time bomb went off.

"When need to get her to the hospital immediately!" I yelled.

"Jacob are you able to hold her?" Atiana asked with concern.

"No one touches her but me!" I yelled.

"Jason calm down. We can't free you without us getting burned." She said annoyed with my reaction of my brother holding her.

"I promise I won't hurt her." My brother reassured me.

"Ok." I said defeated.

Jacob was holding her with ease and gentleness. Then Atiana put a hand on my brother's shoulder and the other one on mine.

"Close your eyes and don't open them until I tell you to. Unless you want to go blind." She ordered.

A second later she had ordered us to open our eyes. We appeared in the middle of the E.R.

"We need a doctor!" I yelled.

"We need to get her to the operating room now!" A nurse yelled at the rest of her crew.

Just in matter of seconds she was out of my sight. I fell to the floor with a pain in my chest.
