chapter #5 The emotion hug

Everyone left except me, Travis and Lilith. We were picking and Travis helped 'cause he insisted "So what's up with you and Travis?" Lilith asked as she wiped down the island. I looks at Travis and he gave me a nod that said 'Go ahead and tell her' I looked at Lilith "Well, um Travis was actually in the orphanage with me" I chuckled nervously.

"Oh my goodness! I didn't know! Did you guys have a connection?" She whispered the last part making it so Travis couldn't hear. I laughed "No we didn't" I said in a hushed voice. Lilith frowned "That's too bad" she said in a normal voice. "What's too bad?" Travis asked, We both looked at each other and laughed "What?" Travis started to laugh too.

I stopped laughing when I heard a door open from down the hallway. I looked at the hallway for a few moments until, Jo came out from the corner "I heard laughing. What's going on?" we all went silent. Lilith broke the awkward silence "Jo, we were just talking about Travis and Marlo!" I smiled awkwardly and nodded in agreement.

Travis walked over to me "Who is this?" he whispered in my ear. I looked at Jo, he was glaring at Travis "He's Lilith's friend, and mine too. So don't be rude" I spoke a bit louder the last four words. Travis nodded, and smiled. I know Travis doesn't like me, he isn't attracted to girls, we talked about it when we were sitting on the couch.

Jo spoke up "Marlo, can I speak with you?" I nodded and started to walk with him, until I felt a firm grip on my wrist 'Be careful' Travis mouthed. I was confused on why I should be careful, but I nodded anyway. He let go of my wrist and I went outside with Jo.

I looked at him "Come on. Yell at me" I said, feeling my stomach fill with sadness. He looked up from the ground, looking like he was just crying "I'm not going to tell at you." He let out a big sigh "I'm sorry. I should've never kissed. If I didn't kiss you we wouldnt be in this spot!" I looked at him, his eyes were red. I hugged him "Don't yell. It'll only make it worse" I didn't know how to deal with people crying, and love. But this is what my mother (before I was in the orphanage) did whenever we were crying.

I know how you feel "I don't know how you feel, but I want to make you feel happy" I felt him hug back. And I felt a warm drop fall on my neck "Th-hank you" he said shakily. "No, thank you"

Travis's POV (I tried not to I'm sorry)

I looked at Lilith while she cleaned the dishes "Do you know what their talking about?" I said. I sat on a stool by the island "Well, they did have tension earlier" I stood up quickly and ran over to Lilith. I put my hands on her shoulders "What did she say?!" She looked confused. She nodded and sat down "Well she said that he was mean-" Gene! "-And she just collapsed. She didn't tell me why. Do you know what happened? Does she have phone?" I looked up. "She doesn't have a phone (that I know of) and I don't know what happened. But in the orphanage she had a friend, and he kissed her and she said he was mean and ran away! And that's why we need to help her!" I angrily yelled, but also felt concern.

I rushed out the front door and heard laughing, it was definitely Marlo's "Marlo!" I shouted for her, it was time to go home. The laughing stopped. Marlo and Jo came out from behind the house "Travis! Jo was just telling me how he met Lilith" they started laughing. Lilith came out of the house and stood behind me.

I grabbed Marlo's hand and started for her house (don't ask me how I know) "Hey! Travis! What's the big deal?" She struggled to get away. I stopped and turned around "I don't like you hanging out with him!" I started to have a quiet argument. "You're not my dad!" I let a big sigh. "Marlo. I missed you and I used to love you. But when Gene did that to you. I just stopped, I knew if I tried I would make it worse." A salty tear ran down my face.

Marlo's POV

I put my hand on Travis' cheek, wiping away the tears with my thumb "Travis, I'm sorry." I quickly wrapped him in a hug "Can we start over?" I whispered in his ear. He nodded. I pulled away "Be right back" I started walking to Jo. "Travis is taking me home. Don't worry he isn't into girls" I winked and walked to Travis "Bye guys, I had so much fun Lilith. Thank you for inviting me!" I smiled. "Thank you for coming and helping me set up and everything" she had a bright smile.

We said our goodbyes and I walked home with Travis. As we were walking Travis started up a conversation "So.... You and Joseph?" He started "What's going on with him?" I giggled. "Nothing. We talked it out while you were inside. He just kissed me." A bright pink sprinkled across my freckles. "You're cute when you blush you know that?" I looked at him. "Thank you?" I wasn't sure if it was a compliment or her was just saying it.

We arrived at my house "Good night, Travis" I started walking up the stairs. "Good night, Princess" I turned around and smiled. I walked inside the house and kicked off my heels, leaning on the closed door. Long night, I sighed.

Sorry if this one was a bit wacky and a lot of things weren't explained. I wrote this chapter in multiple days so I did it by memory.
