This is a work of fiction, however I tried to be accurate with depicting life in another time and place as much as I could.
This pirate story takes place at the end of the golden age of piracy. There was only one real "lane" still subject to piracy in this time. Of course, our characters find themselves in the middle of it.
Swords were still carried during this time, although in another ten years, they would be obsolete except in military uniforms. Steam ships eventually replaced sailing ships in all but a very few places for passengers and merchants. However, our story takes place in that little window of time when steam ships were still new, and used for short runs while most merchants still relied on sail especially on longer voyages.
To make understanding what you read easier, I included New words and definintions at the end of each chapter. Skip them if you don't care, read them if you're curious.
This story is rated mature. This story is not xxx or gory, but it does contain violence, sex and language. This is a tale where the villains are truly beasts and they give no quarter*. There is a happy ending but it comes at a high price and is hard won.
