Dear Klïoe,
Many people have their own definition when it comes to these three words but the one that we ultimately uphold is, God is Love. You can't know what Love is until you know God. And you just can't say it to anyone willy nilly if you don't truly mean it. For love has standards. Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not conceited, does not act improperly, is not selfish, is not provoked, does not keep a record of wrongs, finds no joy in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. The Lord says let us love one another that the reason we can love others is because He first loved us. God has provided a friendship for each of us. Friends who will help us get closer to Him and fan the flames in our passion to serve Him. God blessed us with individuals such as these to be there for us and us for them in return. The relationships we have with them you guessed it are based on love, are based on Him. Although, there is always a way to show love it's not always easy to say it.
Being related in Christ we spend a good deal of time seeking, serving, and praising God. The rest is spent getting to know one another and enjoying each other's company. We build each other up and we draw something from one another's character. From the two of us I believe you were the first to ever say it aloud and then I. However, there were times when I felt like I didn't deserve your words that I've done so little to earn them. That I wasn't good enough but in God's name He drives out that doubt because He declares what we have for one another is true. That we shouldn't be afraid to express those feelings of admiration to those we care a tremendous amount for. That we shouldn't just keep them locked up inside of ourselves because sooner or later we end up suffering in anguish or regret for not being able to say them or for not being able to make that person we care about understand how much we are indebted to them.
I might have faults and shortcomings but it fills my heart with immense happiness to know that there are people like you, like Sherlock who can see past that and love me just for me. I love you Klïoe. Thank you for being a blessing!
With jam and love,
John
