Chapter 5

Rosie sighed, "No. I'm not going to join the marching band!"
"Why not?" Her mom said.
"Well, for one, it would be way to late I to the season to join, and I don't wanna join because it's not what I'm into."
"Why did you join concert band then?"
"Just because I learned how to play trumpet and joined concert band.. doesn't mean I wanna join marching band." Rosie stomped away and locked her door. This was the tenth time her mom tried to make her sign up for marching band and she was ticked by it. She looked at her phone and saw she had several texts from Roland. She smiled. She actually liked the kid, which was a shock to her. She was normally anti-social and all. Why would she finally make a friend?

Roland: hey Rosie!
Rosie: Oh, hey Roland.
Roland: are you doing anything this weekend?
Rosie: Ummm. No? Why?
Roland: I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my house and hang with my other friend I think you would like her
Rosie: Oh.. Yea.. What time?
Roland: how does 1:00 pm on Saturday sound?
Rosie: Sounds good to me.
Roland: See ya then!
Rosie: Yea.. See you tomorrow.

Rosie is going to do something she never thought she would do.. She was going to hang out with friends... On a weekend. She was shocked herself that she said yes. She wasn't in control of herself. It was like some being on the outside made the decision for her. Whatever it was, it was too late to go back now. What's the worst that can happen?

Saturday came up quickly as Rosie packed her bag and was brushing her hair. She heard her mom leave the house with the door slamming shut. The slam shook the house and made a few things knock off Rosie's shelf. Which included a snow globe, a stuffed animal, and that journal. The journal fell straight into Rosie's bag and the girl didn't notice. She picked up the other objects, picked up the bag and left the house, bringing the dusty red journal along with her, if she knew or not.
